Loosening of Access Threshold and Downturns in Listed Firms Performance: A Quasi-Natural Experiment from the “IPO Green Channel” for Poverty Alleviation by Yi Sun, Chunying Cui, Ya Gao, Chunyan Zhao

    Published 2022-01-01
“…Finally, this paper suggests that regulators should cooperate with local governments actively to ensure the smooth implementation of the government’s poverty alleviation efforts while balancing market equity and efficiency. The SFC should take more consideration of institutional compatibility for policy output in financial poverty alleviation to avoid institutional alienation and distortion of corporate behavior.…”

Improving HIV testing and retention among adolescents and youths: Lessons from a quasi-experimental study of the Red-Carpet Program in Malawi. by Rachel Chamanga, Tessa Musukwa, Cosima Lenz, Louiser Kalitera, Geoffrey Singini, Felix Gent, Harrid Nkhoma, Godfrey Woelk, Judith Kose, Thulani Maphosa

    Published 2024-01-01
“…Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation in Malawi implemented the Red-Carpet Program (RCP) to provide fast-tracked services for AYLHIV in care. This study aimed to assess the effect of RCP on Provider-Initiated HIV testing, linkage to care and antiretroviral therapy (ART), and retention in care among AYLHIV in Blantyre, Malawi. This quasi-experimental study compared outcomes among newly identified AYLHIV enrolled in four intervention health facilities implementing RCP with those of three non-intervention facilities between July 2020 and March 2021. …”

Strong Convergence Theorems for Countable Families of Uniformly Quasi-ϕ-Asymptotically Nonexpansive Mappings and a System of Generalized Mixed Equilibrium Problems by Siwaporn Saewan, Poom Kumam

    Published 2011-01-01
“…The purpose of this paper is to present a new hybrid block iterative scheme by the generalized f- projection method for finding a common element of the fixed point set for a countable family of uniformly quasi-ϕ-asymptotically nonexpansive mappings and the set of solutions of the system of generalized mixed equilibrium problems in a strictly convex and uniformly smooth Banach space with the Kadec-Klee property. …”

Can role model women in politics help married women reduce suicides? Evidence from a quasi-experimental study in Brazil by Gabriela Gerote Arvate, Paulo Arvate, Adriano Massuda, Raffael Massuda, Rifat Atun

    Published 2025-01-01
“…The purpose of our work is to demonstrate that women in such positions reduce suicide rates within a group affected by gender inequality: married women.MethodologyWe use regression discontinuity methodology and quasi-experimental electoral designs (elections with a margin of victory very close to zero) to ensure causal inference between the election of women and suicide rates among married women.Principal findingsMunicipalities that elected women as mayors have 1.33 fewer suicides among married women per 100,000 inhabitants compared to those that elected men as mayors.ConclusionThese results offer new insights into how empowered women can challenge social norms and improve public health outcomes.…”

A New Hybrid Algorithm for a Pair of Quasi-𝜙-Asymptotically Nonexpansive Mappings and Generalized Mixed Equilibrium Problems in Banach Spaces by Jinhua Zhu, Shih-Sen Chang

    Published 2011-01-01
“…The purpose of this paper is, by using a new hybrid method, to prove a strong convergence theorem for finding a common element of the set of solutions for a generalized mixed equilibrium problem, the set of solutions for a variational inequality problem, and the set of common fixed points for a pair of quasi-𝜙-asymptotically nonexpansive mappings. Under suitable conditions some strong convergence theorems are established in a uniformly smooth and strictly convex Banach space with Kadec-Klee property. …”

    Published 2022-12-01
“… # Purpose To investigate whether the application of trigger point dry needling (TDN) to latent trigger points within the gluteus medius musculature affected strength measurements and muscle activation levels immediately following intervention. # Design Quasi experimental, single group, pretest-posttest, randomized control study # Methods A control and an intervention side were randomly assigned for each participant (_N_ = 39). …”
