Passive Outdoor Host Seeking Device (POHD): Designing and Evaluation against Outdoor Biting Malaria Vectors
Published 2020-01-01“…However, the odor-baited devices developed so far are bulky, dependent on the source of electricity and carbon dioxide (CO2), and they are logistically unsuitable for scaling up in surveillance and control of malaria vectors. We designed a passive and portable outdoor host seeking device (POHD) and preliminarily evaluated suitable components against Anopheles arabiensis that maintains residual malaria transmission. …”

Systematic Theoretical Analysis of Dual-Parameters RF Readout by a Novel LC-Type Passive Sensor
Published 2017-01-01“…This paper systematically studied the simultaneous measurement of two parameters by a LC-type passive sensor from the theoretical perspective. Based on the lumped circuit model of the typical LC-type passive dual-parameter sensor system, the influencing factors of the signal strength of the sensor as well as the influencing factors of signal crosstalk were both analyzed. …”

Passive Protection of Diabetic Rats with Antisera Specific for the Polysaccharide Portion of the Lipopolysaccharide Isolated from Pseudomonas pseudomallei
Published 1994-01-01“…The sera were specific for P pseudomallei in that none of 37 strains of other bacteria, including 20 Gram-negative and three Gram-positive species, were recognized, although cross-reaction occurred using the anticonjugate serum with some strains of Pseudomonas cepacia serotype A, a closely related bacterium. Passive protection studies using a diabetic rat model of P pseudomallei infection showed that partially purified rabbit polyclonal and mouse monoclonal antisera were protective when the median lethal dose was raised by four to five orders of magnitude. …”

Adaptive Synchronization and Antisynchronization of a Hyperchaotic Complex Chen System with Unknown Parameters Based on Passive Control
Published 2013-01-01“…This paper investigates the synchronization and antisynchronization problems of a hyperchaotic complex Chen system with unknown parameters based on the properties of a passive system. The essential conditions are derived under which the synchronization or antisynchronization error dynamical system could be equivalent to a passive system and be globally asymptotically stabilized at a zero equilibrium point via smooth state feedback. …”
