Comparison of Presumed PDF Models of Turbulent Flames by Chen Huang, Andrei N. Lipatnikov

    Published 2012-01-01
“…The present work is aimed at testing this implicit assumption by comparing mean heat release rates, burning velocities, and so forth, averaged by invoking the aforementioned PDFs, with all other things being equal. Results calculated in the premixed case show substantial sensitivity of the mean heat release rate to the shape of presumed combustion-progress-variable PDF, thus, putting the approach into question. …”

Some Novel Estimates of Integral Inequalities for a Generalized Class of Harmonical Convex Mappings by Means of Center-Radius Order Relation by Waqar Afzal, Khurram Shabbir, Mubashar Arshad, Joshua Kiddy K. Asamoah, Ahmed M. Galal

    Published 2023-01-01
“…A (CR)-order relation relationship differs from traditional interval-order relationships in that it is calculated as follows: q=qc,qr=q¯+q¯/2,q¯−q¯/2. There are several advantages to using this ordered relationship, including the fact that the inequality terms deduced from it yield much more precise results than any other partial-order relation defined in the literature. …”

Temporal and Spatial Changes of Vegetation Coverage in Duliu River Basin from 2000 to 2021 Based on MODIS Data by ZHAI Xiang, ZHAO Qingsong

    Published 2024-01-01
“…Changes in vegetation coverage can reflect the improvement or degradation of the ecological environment,so as to help identify the evolution characteristics of the regional ecological environment. This paper takes the Duliu River Basin as the research area and calculates the vegetation coverage condition of the basin by using a pixel binary model based on MODIS-NDVI product data. The changing trend, fluctuations, and abnormal conditions of the vegetation coverage of the basin over the past 22 years are analyzed through the analyses of the trend, the anomalous percentage, and the coefficient of variation. The results indicate that ① the vegetation coverage in the Duliu River Basin is generally higher or high, with excellent performance and significant seasonal distribution characteristics;② the vegetation coverage is mainly increasing, and the similarity between summer and interannual changes is high, while the changing trend between spring and winter is similar;③ for the past 22 years, the annual vegetation coverage of the basin has mostly been in a normal state, with a relatively stable proportion in annual data. There are more abnormal states in spring and winter. The abnormal changes in vegetation coverage in the same season of different years are more significant compared with the annual data of different years;④ from 2000 to 2021,the overall vegetation coverage shows a stable state. However, the vegetation coverage in winter and spring is relatively unstable, and the fluctuation in winter and spring is more significant than that in summer and autumn. The interannual and summer distribution patterns are relatively consistent in terms of spatiotemporal changes.…”

Are in-medium quark-gluon showers strongly coupled? results in the large-N f limit by Peter Arnold, Omar Elgedawy, Shahin Iqbal

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Some of these effects can be absorbed into an effective value of a medium parameter known as q ̂ $$ \hat{q} $$ . Previous calculations (with certain simplifying assumptions) have found that, after adjusting the value of q ̂ $$ \hat{q} $$ , the leftover effect of overlapping splittings is quite small for purely gluonic large-N c showers but is very much larger for large-N f QED showers, at comparable values of Nα. …”
