Preliminary Estimate of Coriolis Force of Vapor Flow in Rotating Heat Pipes Based on Analytical Solution by Huanguang Wang, Qi Yu

    Published 2018-01-01
“…The flow field was calculated, the Coriolis force is estimated, and it is found that (1) for a rotating heat pipe with high speed or large heat load, it is necessary to consider the Coriolis force, as its magnitude can be that of the gravitational acceleration; (2) the maximum Coriolis force is located at the vapor-liquid interface at the evaporator and condenser sections, and the directions in these two sections are opposite; (3) the Coriolis force is closely related with working conditions and working fluids, and it decreased with working temperature and increased with the heat load; and (4) the maximum viscous shear stress is located at the adiabatic section.…”

Study on Coupling and Coordination Time Series of County Urbanization and Water Environment ——Take Changshu,Jiangsu as an Example by RONG Jie, ZHANG Fengtai

    Published 2023-01-01
“…This paper establishes an evaluation index system for the coordinated development of urbanization and water environment in Changshu and discusses their coupling and coordination relationship,so as to provide a reference for promoting the coordinated development of regional urbanization and water environment and formulating policies. In this paper, the weight of each index is calculated by using the coefficient of variation method.A coupling and coordination model is constructed to measure the time series characteristics of the coupling and coordinated development of the urbanization and water environment in Changshu from 2011 to 2020.The study finds that the comprehensive index of urbanization increases steadily, and that of water environment increases with fluctuations. The coupling and coordination degree between urbanization and water environment shows a rising trend. The two systems have gone through three stages of development during this period:since 2011,urbanization and water environment have undergone imbalance and decline;from 2012 to 2013,they entered transitional development and then coordinated development from 2014 to 2020.In 2011—2016,urbanization lagged behind the water environment;in 2017,urbanization and water environment were balanced;in 2018—2020,water environment lagged behind urbanization. In the future development,it is necessary to grasp the law of coupling and coordination, adopt the urban development model of adjusting measures to local conditions and time, and focus on building a Jiangnan area with a favorable water environment.…”

Comprehensive Evaluation of Water Resources on a Long Time Scale Based on Analytic Hierarchy Process by CHEN Hao, ZHANG Yimin, ZHANG Xiaolin, XIONG Jia, DONG Qianjin

    Published 2021-01-01
“…On a long time scale, the comprehensive water resources in the water resources system is not only related to natural incoming water, but also greatly affected by the underlying surface and human activities. Therefore,on a long time scale, the comprehensive water resources change is affected by many factors and closely related to social development. However, there is no consensus on the current research on assessing changes in comprehensive water resources by multiple factors on a long time scale. This paper constructs a comprehensive water resource evaluation system with 10 indicators in terms of natural incoming water, comprehensive water use,and social factors by the analytic hierarchy process, calculates the water resources volume by taking the upper reaches of Hanjiang River Basin as an example, and concludes that the comprehensive water resources of this river basin fluctuate greatly inter-year,but generally show a downward trend,as well as classifies the state of comprehensive water resources into 5 types according to different score intervals, and on this basis, analyzes the development trend of comprehensive water resources in the upper reaches of Hanjiang River Basin. The results show that the comprehensive water resources in the upper reaches of Hanjiang River Basin will be at high shortage risk in the future,so it is necessary to take reasonable measures to improve water efficiency.…”

Stress and Deformation Analysis of Composite Geomembrane for Seepage Prevention of Reservoir in Karst Area Under the Action of Reservoir Water Level and Groundwater Level by YANG Yang, LIU Hui, LI Yuqiao

    Published 2021-01-01
“…The composite geomembrane has some advantages for seepage prevention treatment of reservoirs in karst area, but it may have adverse effect on the geomembrane due to the joint action of reservoir water level and groundwater level during operation period. In view of this,in order to study the suitability of composite geomembrane for seepage prevention of reservoir in karst area,by taking Lijiaping Reservoir in Qianjiang District,Chongqing City as an example, this paper carries out the finite element analysis through the large finite element software MIDAS GTS NX.The results show that:Under the combined action of reservoir water level and groundwater level, the distribution law of settlement deformation and horizontal deformation of reservoir basin does not differ much, but the decrease of groundwater level will lead to the increase of effective stress of overburden foundation, and then the increase of deformation. When the reservoir water level reaches the check water level and the groundwater level drops to the bedrock surface, the settlement of the reservoir basin, the tensile stress and tensile strain of the geomembrane reach the maximum value.Through calculation, the safety factors of tensile stress and tensile strain are both greater than the permissible safety factor 5.0 required by the code, which indicates that the composite geomembrane has a higher safety margin for seepage prevention.…”
