Typical and atypical metabolic characteristics of three iridaceae isoflavone components: in vitro and in silico studies
Published 2025-02-01“…However, the metabolic characteristics of isoflavone aglycones remain unclear.MethodsIn this study, human liver microsomes (HLMs) and Cytochrome P450 (CYP) recombinant enzymes were used to study the metabolic stability, identify the metabolic pathways and enzyme kinetics of these three components, and elucidate their possible binding sites through molecular docking.ResultsWhen tectorigenin, irigenin, and irisflorentin were co-incubated with HLMs and CYP recombinant enzymes, hydroxylation metabolite for tectorigenin, demethylated metabolite for irigenin, and 6,7-dihydroxy-5,3′,4′,5′-tetramethoxy isoflavone originating from irisflorentin were identified. CYP2E1 and CYP3A4 have high metabolic rates for tectorigenin, whereas CYP2C19 and CYP1A2 are the most important metabolic enzymes for irigenin and irisflorentin, respectively. …”

Analysis of a mouse germ cell tumor model establishes pluripotency-associated miRNAs as conserved serum biomarkers for germ cell cancer detection
Published 2025-02-01“…We previously developed a genetically engineered mouse model featuring malignant mixed TGCTs consisting of pluripotent embryonal carcinoma (EC) and differentiated teratoma that, like the corresponding human malignancies, originate in utero and are highly chemosensitive. Here, we report that miRNAs in the mouse miR-290-295 cluster, homologs of the human miR-371-373 cluster, were detectable in serum from mice with malignant TGCTs but not from tumor-free control mice or mice with benign teratomas. miR-291-293 were expressed and secreted specifically by pluripotent EC cells, and expression was lost following differentiation induced by the drug thioridazine. …”

Late-time Optical and X-Ray Emission Evolution of the Oxygen-rich SN 1996cr
Published 2025-01-01“…The X-ray properties are consistent with what is expected from a shock breaking out into a lower-density environment. Though originally identified as a Type IIn SN, based upon late-time optical emission-line spectra, we argue that the SN 1996cr progenitor was partially or highly stripped, suggesting a Type IIb/Ib SN.…”

Is global health truly global? A hashtag analysis of #GlobalHealth disparities on X
Published 2024-11-01“…Among the top 25 most influential handles, a maximum (N = 09) were based in the United States—most profiles (N = 10) were categorized as international organizations followed by journals (N = 03).ConclusionThe study gives a glimpse into the discrepancies in global distribution and stakeholders of #GlobalHealth. Most posts originated from the global north, which hints at how the trend to #GlobalHealth is not perhaps as global as it is thought to be, and it also reflects upon the real-world scenarios in the context of Global Health Equity. …”

Heterologous expression of SpsTAC2 in Arabidopsis affected branch angle and secondary vascular system development
Published 2025-12-01“…The subcellular localization of SpsTAC2 was analyzed via Agrobacterium-mediated transient expression in onion (Allium cepa L.) epidermal cells. Phenotypic characterization of SpsTAC2 overexpressing Arabidopsis strains revealed that the branching angle of the transgenic strains was significantly greater than that of the wild type, and the anatomical structures of the stems and hypocotyls of the transgenic strains indicated that the vascular system of the transgenic strains developed more slowly than did that of the wild type. …”
