Adaptive iterative bit allocation algorithm for MIMO-OFDM system by FAN Ling-yan1, HE Chen2, FENG Guo-rui3

    Published 2007-01-01
“…The adaptive iterative modulation was proposed for multiple-input-multiple-output-orthogonal frequency divi-sion multiplexed(MIMO-OFDM) system. An adaptive minimum transmit power modulation scheme under constant data rate and fixed bit error rate(BER) for the MIMO-OFDM system was proposed to adjust the modulation order and allo-cates the transmit power to each spatial sub-channel by iterative method considering the requirement of the practical communication system. It can meet the user’s requirements and get better freguency efficiency at the cost of minimum transmission power. And it can avoid the error by round the modulation order.Computer simulation results present the ef-ficiency of the proposed scheme.…”

Optimal transmissions for space-time coded OFDM UWB systems

    Published 2005-01-01
“…The emerging ultra-wideband (UWB) system offers a great potential for the design of high-speed short-range communications.Compared with great progress at physical layer, the corresponding medium access control (MAC) layer designs are naturally placed on the schedules. We focus on the optimal power load scheme, which is an integral part of the MAC layer protocol design, for UWB space-time coded (STC) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) transmissions.Assumed the transmitter has perfect or partial channel stage information (CSI).Based on the optimization criteria of maximizing capacity, three kinds of power load schemes were presented with different tradeoff among performance, complexity and feedback bandwidth overhead. The proposed schemes are verified and compared under the channel prototype proposed by IEEE 802.15.3a Task Group.…”

    Published 2014-05-01
“…This paper addresses the problem of frequency synchronization in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems with periodic preambles. Two Maximum Likelihood Estimators (MLEs) and four low complexity Best Linear Unbiased Estimators (BLUEs) are proposed. …”

Phase-Shift Cyclic-Delay Diversity for MIMO OFDM Systems by Young-Han Nam, Lingjia Liu, Jianzhong (Charlie) Zhang

    Published 2010-01-01
“…Phase-shift cyclic-delay diversity (PS CDD) scheme and space-frequency-block-code (SFBC) PS CDD are developed for multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. The proposed PS CDD scheme preserves the diversity advantage of traditional CDD in uncorrelated multiantenna channels, and furthermore removes frequency-selective nulling problem of the traditional CDD in correlated multiantenna channels.…”

Joint channel and impulsive noise estimation method for OFDM systems by Xinrong LYU, Youming LI, Mingchen YU

    Published 2018-03-01
“…Aiming at the impulsive noise occurring in OFDM systems,an impulsive noise mitigation algorithm based on compressed sensing theory was proposed. The proposed algorithm firstly treated the channel impulse response and the impulsive noise as a joint sparse vector by exploiting the sparsity of both them. Then the sparse Bayesian learning framework was adopted to jointly estimate the channel impulse response, the impulsive noise and the data symbols,in which the data symbols were regarded as unknown parameters.Compared with the existing impulsive noise mitigation methods, the proposed algorithm not only utilized all subcarriers but also did not use any a priori information of the channel and impulsive noise. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm achieves significant improvement on the channel estimation and bit error rate performance.…”
