Effect of High Frequency Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation on Postoperative Cognitive Dysfunction in Elderly Mice Based on BDNF/TrkB Signaling Pathway
Published 2024-01-01“…On the third day after operation, the locomotor activity of mice was evaluated by open field test (percentage of stay time in the central area, total distance and average speed of movement); On the fourth day after operation, the cognitive function of mice was evaluated by Y-maze test (the percentage of times to enter the new arm,the percentage of time to stay in the new arm,and the total distance to move the new arm); After the Y-maze test, the protein expression levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF),tropomyosin related kinase B (TrkB) and nerve growth factor (NGF) in mice hippocampus were detected by immunoblotting.Results(1) Exercise capacity:there was no significant difference in the percentage of time spent in the central area of the open field, total distance and average speed among the three groups (P>0. 05). (2) Cognitive function:there was no significant difference among the three groups in the percentage of times of exploring new forearm (P>0. 05); Compared with the control group, the percentage of stay time in the new arm and the total distance of new arm movement in the operation group were significantly reduced, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0. 05). …”

Scoping review of costs of implementation strategies in community, public health and healthcare settings
Published 2022-06-01“…Objectives To identify existing evidence concerning the cost of dissemination and implementation (D&I) strategies in community, public health and health service research, mapped with the ‘Expert Recommendations for Implementing Change’ (ERIC) taxonomy.Design Scoping review.Data sources MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, Scopus and the Cochrane Library were searched to identify any English language reports that had been published between January 2008 and December 2019 concerning the cost of D&I strategies.Data extraction We matched the strategies identified in each article using ERIC taxonomies; further classified them into five areas (eg, dissemination, implementation, integration, capacity building and scale-up); and extracted the corresponding costs (total costs and cots per action target and per evidence-based programme (EBP) participant). …”

Preventable hospitalizations through ED: does the number of hospital beds matter under the global budget in a single-payer system in Taiwan?
Published 2025-01-01“…The recent increase in the number of hospital beds and the call to enhance the floating-point value to one NTD raise concerns about the potential for increased financial burden without adding value to patient care if hospitals expand their bed capacity for volume-based competition. The present study aimed to examine the relationship between the supply of hospital beds and hospitalizations following an emergency department (ED) visit (called ED hospitalizations) by using diabetes-related ambulatory care sensitive conditions (ACSCs) that are preventable and discretionary as an example.MethodsThe study was a pooled cross-sectional design analyzing 2011–2015 population-based claims data in Taiwan. …”
