Simulation and Evaluation of Sponge City Reconstruction Effect in Urban Drainage Residential Area by YU Haijun, FAN Yuyan, CAO Daling, CHEN Wei

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Drainage effect evaluation is a necessary links in the construction of Sponge City, and urban rainfall mathematical models are important supporting tools for the evaluation work.Taking a residential area in Beijing City as an example,a refined drainage model of the study area was constructed based on a coupled 1D and 2D hydrodynamic model for urban rainstorms, and the drainage situation before and after the sponge transformation of the drainage system were simulated and analyzed. The results showed that the constructed model can well reflect the real drainage situation of the community, and the proposed drainage system upgrade plan can effectively improve the drainage capacity in the area, and the overflow and submergence were significantly reduced. The research can provide some technical reference for the simulation of the hydraulic condition of drainage community and the construction and management of Sponge City.…”

Network Planning Method and Simulation Analysis for Large-Scale Low Earth Orbit Satellite Constellation Networks by Lixiang LIU, Shuaijun LIU

    Published 2020-12-01
“…Thanks to the advantages of global coverage, high capacity and low latency, the large-scale LEO satellite constellation networks has become a hot spot for global development. However, planning methods and simulation modeling research for LS-LEOSCN has not been well studied. This paper focused on the following two issues, namely how to evaluate a given LSLEOSCN, and how to design or optimize a constellation network.Three key indicators for evaluating the performance of LSLEOSCN were established, namely network coverage (CT), system throughput (ST) and round-trip time (RTT).Further, the satellite constellation deployment (SCD), gateway station deployment (GSD) were analyzed and designed in the integrated network evaluation and planning (NEaP) platform for LS-LEOSCN.The simulation results showed that the designed NEaP platform could support the development of LS-LEOSCN evaluation and planning.…”

Survey of Low Earth Orbit Satellite Communication Network Routing Technology by Shuang ZHENG, Xing ZHANG, Wenbo WANG

    Published 2022-09-01
“…Low earth orbit satellite communication network is an important part of the internet of everything era, but the characteristics of satellite constellation topology such as high dynamic, limited heterogeneous resources and unbalanced network service capacity make the traditional routing protocol applied to the ground network no longer suitable for low earth orbit satellite network. In this regard, scholars at home and abroad had carried out extensive research on low-orbit satellite routing technology.Firstly, the research status of low-orbit satellite routing was discussed from inter-satellite routing and satellite-to-ground routing, and the inter-satellite routing technologies with business as the core and topology as the core were compared in detail. On this basis, the key problems faced by low-orbit satellite routing strategies were analyzed, namely, high dynamic network topology, large inter-satellite link propagation delay, uneven network load and limited on-board resources. The future research of routing technology was prospected accordingly.…”

Recent Progress of Silicon Photonics for Middle-Infrared Application by Haowen Shu, Zhaotang Su, Xingjun Wang, Zhiping Zhou

    Published 2015-10-01
“…“Capacity Crunch”in NIR field needs to be forestalled since the pressure of information transmission, processing and storage is continually growing.Silicon photonics, with compatibility of CMOS,compact structure and low fabrication cost, shows its superiority in the field of mid-IR transmission and signal processing. Thus a lead forward is excepted to be realized in large-scale integration of mid-IR devices and nonlinear optical and other field. The strengths and challenge of silicon photonics in mid-IR application were estimated firstly. Then some“building block”components of silicon photonics in mid-IR(waveguides,beam splitter/combiner,diode,etc)were introduced.Achievements of devices (nonlinear optical devices based on FWM,frequency comb in sensing field and laser, modulator, detector in communication field)within the last five years were presented. Finally, the conclusion was made for recent research progress.…”

    Published 2011-09-01
“…Across the boundaries of gender and genre, these writers debunk the notions that the West is a friendly, open place that values non-conformity (particularly self-determination in women); that the region inherently fosters strong families; and that the opportunities of the West all but assure success and happiness. On the other hand, their work does uniformly present an exceptionalist view of Western landscape, crediting it with the potential to nurture and inspire individuals in a quasi-mystic way, and even endowing that landscape with animate power. …”
