Multi-ray channel modeling for programmable wireless environments in the terahertz band
Published 2019-07-01“…Terahertz communication system based on programmable wireless environment allowed programming customization of electromagnetic wave propagation in the most suitable ways for different wireless devices. It could not only improve serious fading, interference and non-line-of-sight problems, but also significantly enhance the security and privacy of the system. The channel modeling of terahertz wireless communication in programmable wireless environment was focused.Firstly,a multi-ray channel model for terahertz-band programmable wireless environment was established based on ray tracing technology as well as the propagation model of line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight.Then,based on the established propagation model, reflection coefficient, the broadband channel capacity under the water-filling power allocation algorithm and the RMS delayed extension were further studied. The simulation and analysis results show that the programmable wireless environment greatly reduces the influence of path loss and multipath fading in terahertz wireless transmission through active interference in electromagnetic wave transmission, improves the transmission capacity of terahertz communication system, which provides a reference for the later design of terahertz communication system, especially indoor terahertz communication system.…”

Optimization and realization of SWIPT relay channel transmission rate based on rateless code
Published 2019-05-01“…The optimization of the transmission rate and implementation of the simultaneous wireless information and power transfer in a relay system were studied. In a three-node two-hop system, the decode-and-forward protocol was employed by the relay node. One transmission period was divided into two phases. The first phase was the simultaneous transmission of the information and energy from the source to the relay. The received signal at the relay node was split to two parts. One part was used for information decoding, and the other was converted into energy for information forwarding in the second phase. In the second phase, the information was forwarded according to the decode-and-forward protocol by the relay. The power splitting factor was optimized to minimize the total time of the two hops for the transmission of a certain amount of information when the durations of the two hops were unequal.Furthermore,Raptor codes were combined with different modulation modes to realize different transmission rates on the two hops for the efficient utilization of the different channel capacities in the two hops. The selection mechanism of the codeword length of Raptor codes and modulation mode was given. The simulation proves that the two hops with unequal durations can achieve a higher throughput, and the capacity of the relay channel can be efficiently used by employing Raptor codes, and an efficient and reliable transmission is realized.…”

Weakly-coupled real-time SDM technology for short-reach optical transmission
Published 2022-07-01“…The capacity upgrade of short-reach optical fiber transmission has received more and more attention.Spatial division multiplexing provides two new dimensions of fiber core and mode, which can greatly increase the transmission capacity of a single fiber. However, the crosstalk between spatial channels severely limits the practical application of space division multiplexing technology. To address the problem, a weakly-coupled space-division multiplexing fiber was firstly designed, in which perturbed rings were introduced in the core to increase the effective refractive index difference between LP modes.Secondly, an all-fiber mode multiplexer/demultiplexer that could handle non-circularly symmetric degenerate LP modes was proposed, as well as a low insertion loss and low crosstalk fan-in and fan-out devices.Based on the proposed fiber and devices, the low-cost intensity modulation and direct detection were used to implement the short-reach weakly-coupled mode-division-multiplexing and multi-core and few-mode real-time transmission. Finally, the prospective of space-division multiplexing real-time optical transmission technology was discussed.…”
