Adsorption of Pb(II) Ions from Aqueous Solutions by Pyrolusite-Modified Activated Carbon Prepared from Sewage Sludge
Published 2011-06-01“…At an initial pH of 5.4 for the Pb(II) ion solution, addition of the pyrolusite-added activated carbon led to the effective removal of Pb(II) ions with an adsorption capacity of ca. 70 mg/g. The adsorption capacity towards Pb(II) ion removal also increased with increasing contact time and adsorbent dosage. …”

Experimental study on adsorbing of flue gas and its application in preventing spontaneous combustion of coal
Published 2018-12-01“…It can be inferred from the experiment that N 2 , SO 2 , and H 2 O can also reduce CO 2 adsorption capacity. The increase or decrease in pH can increase the adsorption capacity of CO 2 , which is apparently larger when the pH is decreasing than when the pH is increasing. …”

Asymptotic performance analysis of untrusted relay system with full-duplex jamming destination
Published 2018-09-01“…The cooperative relay technique in the field of physical layer security is widely concerned by the academic community, due to the advantages of increasing the network capacity and expanding the network coverage. However, cooperative relays may play as untrusted nodes in some certain circumstances.Based on this,to enhance the secrecy performance of untrusted relay systems,a novel full-duplex destination jamming (FDJ) scheme was proposed in the Rayleigh fading channel. In order to maximize the system’s secrecy capacity,a switchable split-optimal antenna selection (OAS) scheme was proposed for a multiple-antenna destination, the power allocation optimization scheme between the source and destination was designed, and the corresponding closed-form expressions of secrecy performance were given. In the large-scale antennas analysis, the closed-form expressions of the ergodic achievable secrecy rate and the optimal power allocation factor of instantaneous secrecy capacity for the FDJ-OAS scheme were derived.Furthermore, based on different asymptotic cases, the asymptotic analyses of secrecy outage probability for the FDJ-OAS scheme were significantly analyzed.Simulation results show that the analytical curves match well with the Monte-Carlo simulation results. It is concluded that the diversity order of the FDJ-OAS scheme is proportional to the number of antennas and antenna diversity can be achieved, which reveals the advantages of the proposed FDJ-OAS scheme.…”

Characterization of Soil Properties and the Implications for Landslide Occurrence in Rubanda District.
Published 2023“…And from the plasticity charts the PI and LL results reveals that the soils are clay of high plasticity and this signals chances of landslides Soil particle distribution The clay fraction for the soil were above 10% threshold identified from the analysis of the soil samples from the respective test pits as shown in the table below, this explains higher possibilities of extreme expansion potential and hence susceptible to land slides The bearing capacity of soil was determined as 250.825 kN/M3.When compared with the safe Safe/allowable bearing capacity of Soft rock 440kN/M3, the bearing capacity of soil is too low indicating high chance of collapsible soil.…”
