Design of MAC protocol and performance analysis for heterogeneous nodes separating CRSN by Deyue MENG, Errong PEI, Youlin HUANG

    Published 2017-08-01
“…Cognitive wireless sensor network (CRSN) is a new type of network that introduces cognitive radio (CR) technology into traditional WSN,and has certain application value and developmental prospect. However, the additional energy consumption, processing requirements and its high cost implementation have hindered its further development and application.Based on this, transfering cognitive functions to another nodes——cognitive nodes which have ability of processing and collecting energy was proposed. The cognitive nodes were deployed with the ordinary sensor nodes according to the certain proportion. They form a new type of network——heterogeneous node CRSN (HT-CRSN).The new network can improve network performance and reduce the deployment cost. Then a work schedule which can be applied to this kind of heterogeneous node sensor networks and a series of feasible MAC protocols was proposed. The analysis of the proposed MAC protocol proves that energy consumption can be balanced by adjusting the deployed ratio of the two kinds of heterogeneous nodes and the network life cycle is improved.…”

Efficient heuristic algorithm for the mobile sink routing problem by YUAN yuan1, PENG Yu-xing1, LI Shan-shan2, TANG Wen-sheng3

    Published 2011-01-01
“…In large-scale monitoring region, randomly deployed wireless sensor networks may not be fully connected with high probability.Using mobile sink for data collection is one of the feasible solutions.Mobile sink shortest routing prob-lem can be regarded as a special case of TSP with neighborhoods(TSPN) problem, since the neighborhoods are the radio ranges of the sensor nodes, which can be modeled as possibly overlapped disks with diverse sizes. This kind of TSPN problem has no polynomial algorithms so far.To handle it,a novel approximation algorithm was proposed, which first forms a "racetrack" by utilizing the non-intersecting loop property of TSP routes, and then through the inner lane heuris-tic,the bend heuristic and the shortcut searching, the algorithm can find an approximation solution within O(n2) computa-tion time. The formal proofs and the large-scale simulations all verify that our algorithm can achieve a good approxima-tion ratio and can be more efficient than the related algorithms.…”

Delay-optimal spectrum decision method for cognitive network by Wu-jian SUN, Na LI, Yang LIU, Le SUN, Tao CHEN, Hao LI, Ou LI

    Published 2012-11-01
“…Spectrum decision was investigated within the confine of spectrum management framework for cognitive radio networks.Sensing errors in PHY layer, outage probability on wireless channel and multiple interruptions of primary user were taken into consideration.Probability-based and sensing-based spectrum decision methods were proposed, which were capable of balancing traffic evenly among licensed. For the probability-based method,short-time first discipline was employed to further shorten average residual time,closed-formed expression were presented based on dynamical programing. For the sensing based method, new channel could be chosen for uncompleted transmission, which alleviated the time spent in waiting primary user.Optimal residual time was obtained by choosing the minimal value of the two methods.Furthermore, spectrum heterogeneity was taken into consideration and theoretical analysis was of general sense.Simulation results validate the approach is efficient.…”

Research on the spectrum sensing and sharing technology in the dynamic spatiotemporal data driven cognitive Internet of vehicles by Caili GUO, Jiujiu CHEN, Yidi XUAN, He ZHANG

    Published 2020-09-01
“…With the explosive development of the intellectualization and network connection of the global automobile industry, the communication technology as a crucial support of the Internet of vehicles (IoV) is facing the problem of spectrum shortage. In addition to providing security services, the diverse service demands of the IoV make the introduction of the cognitive radio technology an effective solution, which can share heterogeneous spectrum resources integrating the sub-6 GHz and millimeter-wave spectrum resources with primary users. But the performance is limited due to the influence of the complex dynamic environment of the IoV.To address this issue,a novelty method was proposed which aimed to make full use of the potential multi-source dynamic spatiotemporal data, mine and learn the changing rules of the vehicle trajectory and traffic flow, and the rules were used to guide the sensing and sharing of the spectrum resource. The system-level simulation platform was built for simulation analysis, the results showed that the performance of the proposed scheme was effectively improved.…”

Extensible hierarchical codec semantic communication system by Yuyuan ZHANG, Haitao ZHAO, Jibo WEI, Kuo CAO, Yichi ZHANG, Peng LUO, Yueling LIU, Kai MEI

    Published 2023-08-01
“…Aiming at the problem that most current researches on text semantic communication mainly rely on simulation system for theoretical verification, an extensible hierarchical semantic communication system was proposed by taking advantage of the separation of hierarchical encoding and decoding architecture in semantic level and grammatical level. The system was compatible with the reliable communication technology under the framework of Shannon information through the mode of semantic and syntactic separation, and realized the nested combination of semantic communication and traditional communication.Furthermore, a universal and extensible verification system was built based on the software radio platform to verify the proposed semantic communication system architecture. The verification system took semantic communication software platform as the driving core of hardware drive and algorithm call, integrated the whole process of signal generation, information transmission, data acquisition, decoding and evaluation at the receiving end, and could be further extended for semantic and syntactic level. Finally, the text semantic communication was tested based on this verification system, which verified that it had higher validity and reliability than the traditional communication mode.…”
