Analysis of Dynamic Change and Driving Factors of Ecological Footprint of Water Resources in Yunnan Province by ZHENG Tao, MI Zhijuan, XIE Yinchang

    Published 2021-01-01
“…In order to ensure the coordination of water resources utilization and economic development in Yunnan Province, the sustainable planning and management of water resources in Yunnan Province should be strengthened. This paper analyzes the dynamic changes of water-resources ecological footprint in Yunnan Province from 2006 to 2018 through the ecological footprint model of water resources, and its driving factors by combining the LMDI decomposition method. The results show that:The total ecological footprint of water resources in Yunnan Province increased steadily and slowly as a whole. In the water utilization structure, the production water accounts for the largest proportion, with the highest ecological footprint, and followed by the domestic water, and the ecological water. From 2006 to 2018,the ecological carrying capacity of water resources in Yunnan Province showed a fluctuating trend, which increased overall after 2011.The water resources in Yunnan Province were in a state of ecological surplus, the same as that in all prefectures and cities.Among them,Kunming,Yuxi, and Chuxiong are on the verge of an ecological deficit, and the ecological footprint of water resources per 10 000 yuan of GDP is on the decline.Economic and technological factors play a leading role in the change of water-resources ecological footprint in Yunnan Province, among which economic factors play a positive role in driving the growth of water-resources ecological footprint. Therefore,it can be concluded that the water resources in Yunnan provinces is under a safe development and utilization state, with a great development potentiality. However, the distribution of water resources in different prefectures and cities is unbalanced,so it needs to be reasonably allocated.…”

Research on the Impact of Economic Growth on Water Resource Demand in Anhui Province Based on Learing Curve by PAN Ya, MA Yuan

    Published 2023-01-01
“…Under the rule of the most stringent water resources management, water resources have become a restrictive for regional economic and social development. How to scientifically estimate the water demand in a certain period and scientifically formulate policies and technological upgrading plans has become vital to whether the region can achieve sustainable and balanced development.Taking Anhui Province as an example, based on the analysis of the water consumption efficiency in its 16 cities from 1999 to 2020,the learning curve of the water consumption index of 10 000 yuan GDP and per capita GDP was established.Subsequently, water consumption control and water utilization efficiency of 2025 in Anhui Province and other cities were forecast, and their feasibility was analyzed in line with relevant policies and plans. The results show that:① there is a significant negative correlation between the per capita GDP and the water consumption index of 10 000 yuan GDP in Anhui Province;② the total water consumption of Anhui province will slowly increase to 35.3 billion in 2025,while the water consumption of 10 000 yuan GDP can be reduced to 65 m3/10 000 yuan;③ according to the current industrial structure and the current level of economic development, the potential of improving the water consumption efficiency in Anhui Province during the 14th five-year plan is not big,and the pressure of water supply still needs to be alleviated through policies, industrial transfer, etc.…”

Assessment and Risk Identification of Water Resources Carrying Capacity in the Pearl River Basin by ZHOU Xuexin, LUO Hao

    Published 2023-01-01
“…:Taking the Pearl River Basin as the research object, this paper builds an evaluation index system for water resources carrying capacity with 13 indexes selected from four aspects of water resources, society, economy, and the ecological environment by using the data in the water resources bulletin and statistical yearbook of the year 2018.The technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) model integrated with combined weighting is used to evaluate and analyze the water resources carrying capacity of 46 cities in the basin. The hot spot analysis method is employed to identify the high-risk areas of water resources carrying capacity there. The results show that the overall water resources carrying index of the basin is 0.504,and the water resources carrying capacity is at Level 2,reflecting the moderate overall water resources carrying status of the basin. There are significant differences in water resources carrying capacity among different regions in the basin. On the whole, the middle-upper reaches of the basin have better carrying capacity than the upper and middle-lower reaches. The Pearl River Delta region is facing great water resources carrying capacity pressure. The distribution of water resources carrying capacity is highly concentrated in the basin. The risk of water resources carrying capacity is not significant in most regions of the basin.Five cities, including Shenzhen,Dongguan,Guangzhou,Foshan, and Zhongshan, are in the hot spot range (99% confidence level). They are high-risk areas of water resources carrying capacity, all concentrated in the Pearl River Delta region.…”
