Measuring transducers for optical diagnostic system with multifunctional unitary photovoltaic converters by R. I. Vorobei, O. K. Gusev, A. I. Svistun, A. K. Tyavlovsky, K. L. Tyavlovsky, L. I. Shadurskaya

    Published 2018-09-01
“…The paper aims at the development of new measuring transducers for optical diagnostic system on a basis of multifunctional unitary photovoltaic converters built on semiconductors with low-concentration deep dopants that form multiple energy levels for different charge states in the band gap. Relative complexity of physical processes accompanying the recharge of several energy levels of multiply-charged deep dopant makes it possible to realize the multifunctionality of a photoelectric converter albeit simple sensor design. The proposed unitary photovoltaic converters proved to have extended functional characteristics and increased ranges of energetic characteristic (by dozens dB) and spectral sensitivity characteristic with possible shifts of red margin by 2 to 4 μm in the spectral sensitivity range of 1–10 μm. …”

A Correction Method of Estimating the Pointing Error for Reflector Antenna by Jie Zhang, Jin Huang, Wei Liang, Youran Zhang, Qian Xu, Letian Yi, Congsi Wang

    Published 2018-01-01
“…Based on the dynamic model of antenna structure and the analyzing model of pointing error, using the displacement information of sampling points on reflector, this paper proposes a correction method to achieve the purpose of accurately estimating the pointing error caused by the structural deformation. Using a 7.3-m Ka band antenna, the results show that the antenna maximum pointing error in theoretical model calculation is 0.0041° at 10m/s wind speed condition; however, the corrected pointing error would be about 0.0054° with considering the modeling error. …”

Silicon Nitride Spot-Size Converter with Coupling Loss < 1.5 dB for Both Polarizations at 1W Optical Input by Enge Zhang, Yu Zhang, Lei Zhang, Xu Yang

    Published 2024-12-01
“…The versatility of the SSC is further demonstrated by its ability to efficiently couple to fibers with MFDs of 2.5 μm and 6.5 μm, maintaining coupling losses below 1.5 dB for both polarizations over the entire C-band. This adaptability to different mode diameters makes the SiN SSC a promising candidate for future electro-optic chiplets that integrate heterogeneous materials such as III-V for gain and lithium niobate for modulation with the SiN-on-SOI for all other functions using advanced packaging techniques.…”
