Structural properties and static robustness of Linux software network
Published 2019-11-01“…The source code of the Linux software was analyzed, and the directed function call network model, the weak coupling network model of software system, the strong coupling network model and the strong connected subgraph model were built. The characteristics and static robustness of the four networks were studied. The results show that four networks all show ‘small-world’ property. The out-degree distribution of the six modules in the Linux network generally follows the exponential distribution, and the in-degree distribution of the six modules follows the power law.The best attacking strategy was distinct when different robustness evaluation indicator was adopted. For the weak connectivity indicator, high in-degree attacking strategy was of the greatest damage to the weakly coupled software network.…”

Research on traffic identification and scheduling based on optical interconnection architecture in data center
Published 2018-09-01“…In order to solve the data center link congestion problem, based on the characteristics of the flow distribution and flow types,a flow identification and scheduling scheme based on optical interconnect structure, named HCFD (host-controller flow detection),was proposed to identify the elephant flow which has a large impact on the network performance, and use the SDN controller to make forward strategy, and schedule the network traffic reasonably. The implementation of the scheme was to use the Netfilter framework in Linux kernel protocol on the host side to mark the flow that exceeds the threshold amount. Then, the classification model was used in the controller side to classify the marked flow. Finally, the appropriate forwarding strategy was developed based on the above results. With the advantage of the photoelectric network, mechanisms of flow depth fusion and switching could be realized. The scheme which integrates the advantage of the existing research results, was expected to identify elephant flow more accurately and comprehensively. It can effectively alleviate the network congestion, make full use of network bandwidth, reduce end-to-end delay and packet loss rate.…”

Parallel Monte Carlo computations in SCore environment
Published 2004-12-01“… Parallel Monte Carlo (PMC) methods are successful because particles are typically independent and easily distributed to multiple processors. We use the PC Cluster TAURAS [1] with the SCore cluster system software on top of Linux OS to present the strategy for parallelizing Monte Carlo calculations. …”

NFP:enabling network function parallelism in NFV
Published 2018-07-01“…Software-based sequential service chains in network function virtualization (NFV) could introduce significant performance overhead.Current acceleration efforts for NFV mainly target on optimizing each component of the sequential service chain. However, based on the statistics from real world enterprise networks,it was observed that 53.8% network function (NF) pairs could work in parallel. In particular,41.5% NF pairs could be parallelized without causing extra resource overhead.NFP was presented,a high performance framework, that innovatively enabled network function parallelism to improve NFV performance.NFP consisted of three logical components.Firstly,NFP provided a policy specification scheme for operators to intuitively describe sequential or parallel NF chaining intents.Secondly,NFP orchestrator intelligently identified NF dependency and automatically compiled the policies into high performance service graphs.Thirdly,NFP infrastructure performed light-weight packet copying, distributed parallel packet delivery, and load-balanced merging of packet copies to support NF parallelism. An NFP prototype based on DPDK in Linux containers was implemented. The evaluation results show that NFP achieves significant latency reduction for real world service chains.…”
