Biomarkers and Their Possible Functions in the Intestinal Microenvironment of Chagasic Megacolon: An Overview of the (Neuro)inflammatory Process
Published 2021-01-01“…Components such as neuronal subpopulations, enteric glial cells, mast cells and their proteases, and homeostasis-related proteins from several organic systems (serotonin and galectins) are differentially involved in the progression of Chagasic megacolon. This review is aimed at revealing the characteristics of the intestinal microenvironment found in Chagasic megacolon by using different types of already used biomarkers. …”

Identification of Protein Kinase C Isoforms Involved in Type 1 Diabetic Encephalopathy in Mice
Published 2018-01-01“…Diabetic encephalopathy is a complication of diabetes mellitus characterized by impaired cognitive functions. Protein kinase C (PKC) isoforms are rarely reported on diabetic encephalopathy, although they have been believed to play crucial roles in other diabetic complications. …”

Food-related behaviors of rural (Asaase Kooko) and peri-urban (Kaadjanor) households in Ghana
Published 2025-02-01“…Food-related behaviors can influence nutritional status and health outcomes, and likely vary between rural and peri-urban households; however, there is limited documentation on such differences.ObjectiveTo assess food-related behaviors of rural and peri-urban households in Ghana to inform the design and implementation of a field study to validate passive wearable camera technologies for dietary assessment.MethodsThis was a cross-sectional qualitative study in rural (Asaase Kokoo) and peri-urban (Kaadjanor) communities, Ghana. …”

Bursting Phenomenon and Chaos Phase Control in Plant Dynamics
Published 2023-01-01“…For the periodic bursting oscillations, we observe that after each peak of excitation due to the wind load, the plant returns directly to its state of rest, whereas the chaotic bursting oscillations break the energy of the wind into decreasing value packets and its occurrence has the merit of reducing the effects of wind energy on the plant; this action ensures the stability of the plant even in chaotic cases. …”

Boolean-chaos-based physical random number generator
Published 2019-01-01“…A novel method for generating physical random numbers using Boolean-chaos as the entropy source was proposed. An autonomous Boolean network (ABN) without self-feedback was constructed by using two-input logic gates, and its dynamic characteristics were analyzed.Based on this,a 15-node ABN circuit was implemented to successfully generate Boolean-chaos with a bandwidth of ~680 MHz and a min-entropy around 1.By implementing the entropy source and the entropy extraction circuit on a single FPGA,the physical random number generation with a real-time rate of 100 Mbit/s was finally achieved. The NIST SP800-22 and DIEHARD randomness test results demonstrate that the obtained random sequences by the method successfully pass all tests. This indicates the random numbers has good random statistical characteristics.…”
