Effects of Neutralization, Decoloration, and Deodorization on Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons during Laboratory-Scale Oil Refining Process
Published 2017-01-01“…Neutralization had a modest influence on sixteen analytes; however, deodorization was only responsible for a slight decrease in the light PAHs and heavy PAHs contents. Data obtained in this study suggest that the use of activated carbon during oil refining process is highly recommended; moreover, these results provide a useful guidance for oil refining plant to reduce security risk and ensure the quality of the vegetable oil products.…”

Improving smuon searches with neural networks
Published 2025-01-01“…Abstract We demonstrate that neural networks can be used to improve search strategies, over existing strategies, in LHC searches for light electroweak-charged scalars that decay to a muon and a heavy invisible fermion. We propose a new search involving a neural network discriminator as a final cut and show that different signal regions can be defined using networks trained on different subsets of signal samples (distinguishing low-mass and high-mass regions). …”

Through Infrastructure: Pneumatic Transport and the Continuity of the Technical Fix from the Nineteenth to the Twenty-first Century
Published 2025-02-01“…Since the beginning of the twenty-first century, pneumatic tube-based transport has been depicted as a ‘green’, ‘sustainable’ infrastructure for the transport of both people and goods; it has been represented as a possible solution to help reduce traffic congestion, air pollution and carbon-dioxide emissions and as an alternative to heavy transport. In fact, air pollution occupies a crucial position in the hierarchy of urban problems. …”

Research on security defense of mobile edge computing
Published 2021-02-01“…Mobile Edge Computing can solve the problem of heavy backhaul link overloaded and long delay effectively by further extending the telecommunication cellular network to other wireless access networks. However, the MEC nodes are exposed to the edge of the network whose computing resource, storage capacity and energy resource are limited, they are more vulnerable to the illegal attacks by attackers.Based on the briefly analysis of the security threats faced by mobile edge computing, some key problems and challenges of mobile edge computing for four different security subjects, device security, node security, network resources and tasks, and migration security are summed up and expounded, and the existing security solutions were summarized. Finally, the open research and future development trend of mobile edge computing security defense on three aspects that limited resource defense model in the dynamic scene, resource deployment based on comprehensive trust and user-centered service reliability assurance are discussed.…”
