RESEARCH ON CUTTING FORCE MODELLING AND INFLUENCE FACTORS FOR END MILLS WITH VARIABLE-HELIX ANGLE by JIN Gang, LI Hua, HAN JianXin, LI Dong, QI HouJun

    Published 2017-01-01
“…Variable helix cutter can reduce the location error of the finished surface, leading to a more accurate machining operation.Considering the geometries of variable pitch and helix angle, and the piecewise continuous regions of the cutting,an analytical model for predicting the cutting force for milling process with variable helix angle cutter is presented. The validation of the proposed model is conducted via some cutting tests.Based on proposed model, the influence of variable helix character on cutting force is studied.Analyses show that cutting force coefficients obtained from the traditional cutting tool could be used to accurately predict the cutting forces of the variable helix cutting tool. The bigger helix angle corresponds to the smaller cutting force and bigger width of phase. The character of variable-helix angle has more significant influence on cutting force when axial depth of cut is larger.…”

Auto-collimation diffraction of two-dimensional metal–dielectric grating with azimuth angle of 45° by Wang Yi-Han, Wang Jin, Chen Yu-Da, Huang Zhi-Sen, Jia Wei, Zhou Chang-He

    Published 2025-01-01
“…In this paper, we proposed, for the first time, a reflective two-dimensional metal-dielectric grating of which the (−1, −1) order beam is diffracted back along the input light direction, when the incident azimuth angle is 45°. With optimized structure, the (−1, −1) order diffraction efficiencies of transverse electric polarization (TE) and transverse magnetic polarization (TM) are 95.01 % and 95.04 % at incident wavelength of 632 nm, respectively. …”

Uncovering narrative aging: an underlying neural mechanism compensated through spatial constructional ability by Yumeng Li, Junying Zhang, Xin Li, Zhanjun Zhang

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Additionally, an interesting finding showed that macrostructure increases in spatial contribution with age, suggesting a compensatory interaction where brain regions related to spatial-constructional ability have a greater impact on macrostructure. These results, supported by neural-level validation and multimodal structural MRI, provide detailed insights into the compensatory effect in the narrative aging process.…”
