Greenbug resistance in barley landraces from Uzbekistan
Published 2021-10-01“…Plants with a damage rate of 1–4 points (up to 30% of the leaf surface being damaged) belonged to the resistant class; damage rate of 5–8 points indicated moderate resistance of plants, and that of 9–10 meant susceptibility. In addition, we assessed the aphid damage of the winter barley cultivar ‘Post’, protected by the previously identified resistance gene Rsg1.Results and conclusions. …”

Degrade or Super-Resolve to Recognize? Bridging the Domain Gap for Cross-Resolution Face Recognition
Published 2025-01-01“…Therefore, the selection of the appropriate face recognition method should consider the quality of the images. Additionally, our experiments also suggest that combining gallery degradation and face hallucination in a hybrid recognition scheme provides the best overall results for cross-resolution face recognition with relatively high-quality probe images, while the degradation process on its own is the more suitable option for low-quality probe images. …”

Expansion Deformation Law and Deterioration Mechanism of Expansive Soil in Guangxi under Different Initial Water Content
Published 2024-11-01“…After hydrophilic minerals in the soil absorb water, the unit cells become larger, and the distance between the unit cells becomes larger. In addition, the number of overlapping particles becomes smaller, and the binding mode between soil particles changes, which affects the microscopic composite structure of the soil, resulting in expansion of and strength deterioration of soil after water absorption. …”

The Long Noncoding RNA LOXL1-AS1 Promotes the Proliferation, Migration, and Invasion in Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Published 2020-01-01“…In the present study, we observed that the expression level of LOXL1-AS1 in hepatocellular carcinoma tissue was significantly higher than that in adjacent nontumor tissues, and its expression in three hepatic carcinoma cell lines was obviously higher than that in a normal cell line. In addition, in the Hep-G2 cell line, LOXL1-AS1 downregulation significantly inhibited cell proliferation in the light of the MTT and colony formation assays in vitro, which was consistent with animal experiment in vivo. …”

Interleukin-1β Accelerates the Onset of Stroke in Stroke-Prone Spontaneously Hypertensive Rats
Published 2012-01-01“…Gene expressions of IL-1β, IL-1 receptors, caspase-1, and downstream genes (MCP-1 and ICAM-1), which associated with immune cell recruitment, were significantly greater in SHRSP than in WKY or SHR, coincident with greater NFκB protein levels in SHRSP compared to WKY or SHR. In addition, continuous administration of IL-1β (2 μg/day) using an osmotic pump slightly increased the incidence of stroke in SHR (P=0.046) and significantly accelerated the onset of stroke in SHRSP (P=0.006) compared to each control (n=10 per group). …”

Stiffness Determination of Backfill-Rock Interface to Numerically Investigate Backfill Stress Distributions in Mine Stopes
Published 2021-01-01“…The results show that the newly proposed method leads to totally the same backfill stress distributions with models applying the interface stiffness by the method in FLAC manual based on a “rule-of-thumb” but will save at least 20%–30% calculation time to improve modeling efficiency under the same simulation conditions and will carry much clear physical meanings corresponding to the interaction between backfill and rock walls in mine stopes. In addition, the vertical and horizontal stresses show good agreements with the analytical stresses predicted by the Marston equation under the at-rest state, which validates the reliability of the proposed solution for interface stiffness. …”
