Effect of Lamotrigine on Refractory Epilepsy: Clinical Outcomes and EEG Changes
Published 2025-01-01“…Based on the treatment interventions received, patients were divided into a control group (n=46, treated with valproate) and an observation group (n=47, treated with lamotrigine in addition to valproate). The clinical treatment effects, EEG (δ, θ, α, β) power levels, neurological function indicators [brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), nerve growth factor (NGF), pro-apoptotic protein Bcl-2, Bax], inflammatory response indicators [interleukin-1β (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6), prostaglandin E2 (PGE2)], and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The clinical treatment effect in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group, with a higher total effective rate (93.62% vs 76.09%, P< 0.05). …”

Comparative analysis of inflammatory biomarkers for the diagnosis of neonatal sepsis: IL-6, IL-8, SAA, CRP, and PCT
Published 2025-01-01“…When the CRP cut-off value was 13.18 mg/L, the smallest AUC for the diagnosis of NS-TIs was for CRP (AUC = 0.762, 95% CI 0.667–0.857; P < 0.001). Additionally, according to the AUC value, the best combination was SAA and PCT for NS-PI diagnosis, and the best combination was PCT and IL-6 for NS-TI. …”

Effect of intermittent infusion hemodiafiltration on cerebral and hepatic oxygenation
Published 2025-01-01“…The percentage (%) change in hepatic rSO2 after the seventh dialysate infusion was significantly greater than those after the first, third, and fifth infusions. Additionally, percentage changes in hepatic rSO2 were negatively correlated with %ΔBV (ρ = −0.394, p < 0.001) and positively correlated with the ratio of the dialysate infusion volume to circulating BV just before infusion (ρ = 0.387, p < 0.001). …”

Synthesizing Local Capacities, Multi-Source Remote Sensing and Meta-Learning to Optimize Forest Carbon Assessment in Data-Poor Regions
Published 2025-01-01“…Notably, a stacking ensemble of support vector machines and random forest achieved the highest accuracy (R2 = 0.84, RMSE = 1.36), followed by an ensemble of all base learners (R2 = 0.83, RMSE = 1.39). Additionally, our results demonstrate that factors such as the diversity of base learners and the sensitivity of meta-leaners to optimization can influence stacking performance.…”

Integrated transcriptomic hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis network analysis reveals the role of energy availability on egg production in layers
Published 2025-03-01“…The study found that energy deprivation significantly decreased reproductive performance such as egg laying rate, ovarian index, number of small yellow follicles (SYF), and normal hierarchical follicles (NHIE) (P < 0.05), which recovered after refeeding, indicating the importance of energy availability for sustained ovulation in layers. In addition, estradiol (E2), estradiol to progesterone (E2/P4) ratio, and luteinizing hormone (LH) displayed changes similar to follicle number, whereas follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) exhibited a contrasting pattern. …”
