Early assessment of IL8 and PD1+ Treg predicts response and guides treatment monitoring in cemiplimab-treated cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma
Published 2025-01-01“…Finally, IL8 mirrored the tissue results, unlike IL1β, with early (T1) and then sustained (T3) downregulation of its levels in responder patients, while increased in non-responders.Conclusions Taken together, these findings shed light on the significance of early transcriptomic and immune cell modulation in predicting responses to cemiplimab therapy. Additionally, our data suggest that IL8 levels in peripheral blood offer promising avenues for personalized treatment selection and response assessment in patients with cSCC receiving cemiplimab, while PD1+Tregs can be followed longitudinally to monitor response to therapy.…”

Fusarium Head Blight in Argentina, a Profile of Produced Mycotoxins and a Biocontrol Strategy in Barley During Micro-Malting Process
Published 2025-01-01“…The aims of this study were to determine (a) the incidence of the main species causing FHB in different locations of the barley-growing region of Argentina, (b) their ability to produce mycotoxins, and (c) the levels of deoxynivalenol (DON) and nivalenol (NIV) natural occurrence in grains at the harvest stage. Additionally, a strain of Bacillus velezensis was studied as a biocontrol agent in order to control F. graminearum sensu stricto and mycotoxin accumulation during the malting process, with the final objective being to reduce DON contamination in the beer manufacture chain. …”

Outcome evaluation and cost-effectiveness analysis for an integrated multidisciplinary diabetic limb salvage program: a combined observational and simulation study
Published 2025-01-01“…The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) was calculated for the DEFINITE Care program relative to routine care. Results The estimation of average treatment effects based on propensity scores showed that the DEFINITE Care group exhibited a 9% lower mortality, 5% higher lower extremity amputation (LEA)-free survival, yet a 5% higher minor LEA rate compared with the matched historical controls. Additionally, they experienced fewer inpatient admissions (0.98 fewer episodes) and shorter hospital stays (5.5 fewer days) within 1 year (p-value <0.001). …”

Surface functionalization of titanium implants with controlled-release glutathione conjugate for antioxidant and osteogenesis
Published 2025-01-01“…To counteract intracellular ROS overproduction and the oxidized microenvironment, we constructed vinylphosphonic acid-glutathione (VPA-GSH) conjugates synthesized through a thiol-ene click reaction on Ti substrates, endowing them with good biocompatibility, antioxidant capability, and promotion of osteogenesis. In addition, a substantial amount of GSH was controllably released after transferring the VPA-GSH-loaded Ti substrate from a synthetic solution at pH 3.6 to phosphate-buffered saline at pH 7.4. …”
