IRG1/itaconate enhances efferocytosis by activating Nrf2-TIM4 signaling pathway to alleviate con A induced autoimmune liver injury
Published 2025-02-01“…Exogenous 4-octyl itaconate (OI) supplementation promoted the expression of Nrf2 and TIM4 and restored IRG1-/- bone marrow-derived macrophage (BMDM) efferocytosis, whereas inhibition of Nrf2 mediated by ML385 led to impaired efferocytosis of BMDMs, decreased expression of TIM4, and aggravated liver inflammation injury. Additionally, after supplementing Nrf2-/- BMDMs with exogenous OI, we evaluated the changes in its efferocytosis effect, efferocytosis did not change, and the protective effect of OI disappeared. …”

The Method of Situation Analysis of International Relations as A Forecasting Tool Under Conditions of Transforming World Order
Published 2019-09-01“…The article also overviews the major principles of situation analysis: 1) participants must have high level of expertise; 2) situational analysis is multidisciplinary; 3) situational analysis allows focusing on key aspects of a problem when there is no clear, unambiguous understanding of it and when the views of experts vary widely; 4) to obtain significant analytical results, it is necessary to move above the situation under analysis in search of wider generalizations; 5) situational analysis is opposite to propaganda, it must be averted to conformism and partisanship; 6) situation analysis should be aimed at realizing national interests; 7) situation analysis is directed towards future. In addition to the general principles of situation analysis, the article gives two specific examples of its application. …”

Dual Role of α-MSH in Colitis Progression: Mediating Neutrophil Differentiation via Bone Marrow
Published 2025-02-01“…This study aims to investigate the alterations in the HPA and its potential roles during IBD development. Methods: We utilized a dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced colitis model in mice and employed immunofluorescence, real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR), enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), among other techniques, to evaluate the impact of colitis on the HPA. Additionally, we used flow cytometry, adeno-associated virus-mediated gene silence, parabiosis and single-cell RNA sequencing to uncover the specific roles and mechanisms of the HPA in colitis. Results: Our results indicate that colitis activates HPA secretion and increases α-MSH. α-MSH acts on the MC5R present on the surface of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) in the bone marrow, altering the bone marrow microenvironment and promoting HSCs proliferation and differentiation into neutrophils. …”
