miR‐130a‐3p regulated TGF‐β1‐induced epithelial‐mesenchymal transition depends on SMAD4 in EC‐1 cells
Published 2019-03-01“…Here we found that knocked down SMAD4 could partially reverse TGF‐β‐induced migration, invasion, and EMT progression in the ESCC cell line EC‐1. miR‐130a‐3p, which directly targets SMAD4, is down‐regulated in ESCC. miR‐130a‐3p inhibits the migration and invasion of EC‐1 cells both in vitro and in vivo. Finally, miR‐130a‐3p inhibits TGF‐β‐induced EC‐1 cell migration, invasion, and EMT progression in a SMAD4‐dependent way. …”

Demographic and clinical impact on preoperative BREAST-Q ePROM completion and baseline outcomes in women undergoing breast cancer surgery: a quantitative descriptive study at a Dan...
Published 2025-01-01“…The BREAST-Q is a PROM in questionnaire format, developed and validated to assess satisfaction and quality of life for breast surgery patients. The hypothesis tested is that considering disparities in geography, age and education among responders is essential for capturing a diverse patient population in future Patent-Reported Outcome Measures initiatives, examining how these characteristics are associated with Patent-Reported Outcome Measures utilisation and outcomes.Design Quantitative descriptive study.Setting Electronic Patient-Reported Outcome Measures were collected between 6 September 2021 and 5 September 2022 from patients recruited from an outpatient clinic at a Plastic- and Breast Surgery Department at a University Hospital in Denmark.Participants Participants include a total of 629 Danish-speaking women diagnosed with breast cancer and scheduled for breast cancer surgery, with a final participation rate of 468.Intervention Preoperative ePROMs and demographic data were collected between September 2020 and 2021 through patients’ secure national digital post-box.Main outcome measures Demographic variables of both responders and non-responders were assessed using t-tests, Mann-Whitney U tests and χ2 tests. …”

Field-based evidence for the prevalence of soil antibiotic resistomes under long-term antibiotic-free fertilization
Published 2025-01-01“…Despite the influence of various factors like bacterial communities, soil properties, heavy metals, and MGEs, the MGEs had the most significant standardized effects on shaping ARGs through both direct and indirect pathways. Our findings indicates that while of antibiotic-free manure can lower the risk of antibiotic residues and promote sustainable farming practices, it may not fully eliminate the prevalence of ARGs, highlighting the need for more comprehensive strategies to address antibiotic resistance in agriculture rather than simply prohibiting the use of antibiotics.…”

Reflections and trajectories for interdisciplinary research on the energy transition
Published 2024-06-01“…In this context, which must always look forward, we must design our best political and systemic actions to promote the need to innovate by using the Planet’s resources well and consciously. The goals of climate neutrality by 2050 and the reduction of CO2 emissions by 55% (compared to the 1990 level) by 2030 (European Commission, 2019, 2021) pose the European Union, and even more so the rest of the world, with several complex issues, including a significant increase in ‘clean’ energy production from alternative and renewable sources, the reduction of energy poverty, greater security of energy supply and a drastic decrease in dependence on energy imports; at the same time, the aim is to foster modern economic growth decoupled from the use of non-renewable resources, the creation of new jobs, and to generate environmental and health benefits, objectives with inevitable cultural, political, economic, production, technological and social implications to be addressed both within one’s borders and in foreign policy. …”
