Comparison of IMO vifa24plus(1-2) and Humphrey Field Analyzer 24-2
Published 2025-01-01“…A Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to compare fixation, false positives, false negatives, and total test time for both eyes between the HFA and IMO vifa tests. Only eyes with reliable test results were selected, and the visual field index (VFI), mean deviation (MD), and pattern standard deviation (PSD) were examined using Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results: The test times for the HFA 24– 2 and IMO vifa 24plus(1– 2) were 716.83± 118.80 and 628.75± 142.70 s, respectively, with the IMO vifa being significantly shorter (P< 0.001). …”

Sex differences in the association between metabolic disorder and inflammatory cytokines in Han Chinese patients with chronic schizophrenia
Published 2025-01-01“…BackgroundPrevious evidence suggests that immune-inflammatory dysfunction plays an important role in metabolic disorder (MD) of patients with schizophrenia, yet studies on sex differences in the association between both are limited. The current study aimed to investigate sex differences in the association between MD and inflammatory cytokines in Han Chinese patients with chronic schizophrenia (CS).MethodsThis multicentre cross-sectional study was conducted in one general hospital and two psychiatric hospitals in Anhui Province, China. …”

Temperature-dependent toxicity and mechanisms of florfenicol on the embryonic development of marine medaka (Oryzias melastigma)
Published 2025-01-01“…For genes related to DNA damage and apoptosis (pi3k, akt, foxo1, tp53, bcl-2, bax, apaf-1, caspase 9, and 3), alterations in gene expression were evident for all florfenicol treatments at both 20 °C and 30 °C. Therefore, this study suggests that the combined effects of florfenicol and temperature may disrupt the normal function of mitochondria, impacting ATP production, thereby inducing oxidative stress, inflammatory response, DNA damage, and apoptosis, ultimately resulting in decreased hatching rates and increased mortality. …”

PD-1 cis-targeted IL-2v in combination with radiotherapy inhibits lung cancer growth and remodels the immune microenvironment
Published 2025-01-01“…The addition of muFAP-CD40 to the combination treatment further increased infiltrating CD8+ T cells, expressing high levels of effector molecules, both in the periphery and core tumor regions. An accumulation of CD8+ PD-1+ TOX+ (exhausted) T cells, already at the ‘early’ timepoint, is consistent with the limited clinical benefits provided by the various combination treatments in this model. …”

Impact of Helicobacter pylori infection on neoadjuvant chemotherapy in locally advanced gastric cancer: a retrospective analysis
Published 2025-01-01“…Multivariate analysis showed that factors related to major pathological response included; age ≤ 50 (OR: 0.423, 95% CI: 0.194–0.925), H. pylori infection (OR: 0.396, 95% CI: 0.183–0.854), pathological stage T 3/4 (OR: 0.524, 95% CI: 0.288–0.954), and CA12-5 > 35 U/mL (OR: 0.345, 95% CI: 0.132–0.904). Both overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) rates were poorer in the H. pylori-positive group than in the H. pylori-negative group (OS: Log-Rank P = 0.035; DFS: Log-Rank P = 0.029). …”

Sodium Butyrate: A Multifaceted Modulator in Colorectal Cancer Therapy
Published 2025-01-01“…Conclusions: NaB can modulate critical apoptotic and cell cycle genes, disrupt tumor cell proliferation, and overcome resistance mechanisms associated with anti-apoptotic regulators such as MCL-1. By targeting both short-term and long-term anti-apoptotic defenses, NaB shows promise as a preventive and therapeutic agent in CRC, particularly in high-risk phenotypes with compromised p53 functionality. …”
