Global Mean and Relative Sea-Level Changes Over the Past 66 Myr: Implications for Early Eocene Ice Sheets
Published 2024-12-01“…Continental-scale ice sheets waxed and waned beginning ca. 34 Ma (>50 m BSL changes), with near complete collapse during the Miocene Climate Optimum (17–14.8 Ma). Both the BSL and RSL estimates have markedly higher Oligocene to Early Miocene Myr-scale amplitudes (20–60 m) than recently published δ18O-based estimates (<20 m) and much lower estimates than those of Exxon Production Research (>100 m), leading us to reject those estimates. …”

Effect of Liuzijue on Pulmonary Function of Patients with Ischemic Stroke and Hemiplegia
Published 2022-10-01“…The forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1), peak expiratory flow (PEF) rate and maximum voluntary ventilation (MVV) volume of the two groups were evaluated by portable pulmonary function meter before and after the intervention; the modified Barthel index (MBI) was used to evaluate activities of daily living; the stroke impact scale (SIS) was used to evaluate the quality of life.ResultsBefore the intervention, there was no statistical difference in the FVC, FEV1, PEF, MVV, MBI, and SIS scores between the two groups (P>0.05). After 12 weeks of intervention, the scores of the FVC, FEV1, PEF, MVV, MBI, SIS in both groups improved significantly compared with those before intervention, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.001). …”

Schnittstellen zwischen performance und Analyse von Popmusik. Performative Produktionsprozesse in Pink Floyds Album Wish You Were Here und Jordan Rudessʼ Coverversion von Genesisʼ...
Published 2017-06-01“…These two approaches are applied to Pink Floyd’s album Wish You Were Here (1975) and to Jordan Rudess’ cover version (2007) of Genesis’ Dance on a Volcano (1975/76). Both works belong to the prog rock tradition and display a similar level of musical complexity; the way in which these works are complex, however, differs and reflects different production styles: Pink Floydʼs album is the result of a quasi vegetative growth under strong psychological distress, leading to a dense network of musical cross-references throughout the album; Jordan Rudess, on the other hand, proceeds rationally and economically, and the artistic effect of the result owes much to the virtuosity of the musicians.…”
