Economic and Statistical Modelling of Production Processes in the Regions of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation by Sergey V. Baranov, Tatiana P. Skufina

    Published 2025-06-01
“…At the first stage, the analysis of correlations between GRP and factors of production was carried out, on the basis of which the AZRF regions were divided into three groups: 1) regions in which the mutual behavior of the main factors of production (labor and capital) fits into the generally accepted concepts (the Russian Federation as a whole, the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)); 2) regions in which the mutual behavior of the main factors of production does not fit into the classical concepts: there is a sufficiently strong positive relationship with only one of the factors of production (the Arkhangelsk Oblast, the Krasnoyarsk Krai, the Komi Republic); 3) regions for which there is no sufficiently strong positive relationship between GRP and factors of production (the Murmansk Oblast, the Republic of Karelia, the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug). …”

Exploring Downscaling in High-Dimensional Lorenz Models Using the Transformer Decoder by Bo-Wen Shen

    Published 2024-09-01
“…This study highlights several key findings and areas for future research: (1) a set of large-scale variables, analogous to multivariate analysis, which retain memory of their connections to smaller scales, can be effectively leveraged by trained empirical models to estimate irregular, chaotic small-scale variables; (2) modern machine learning techniques, such as FFNN and transformer models, are effective in capturing these downscaling processes; and (3) future research could explore both downscaling and upscaling processes within a triple-scale system (e.g., large-scale tropical waves, medium-scale hurricanes, and small-scale convection processes) to enhance the prediction of multiscale weather and climate systems.…”

Double-component combined generalized weighted fractional Fourier transform based waveform design for massive MIMO by Xingjian LI, Zhiqun SONG, Yong LI, Lizhe LIU, Bin WANG, Chang WANG

    Published 2023-12-01
“…In order to overcome the drawback of conventional diversity technologies that sacrificing valuable communication resources such as data rate or bandwidth in massive multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems, a double-component combined generalized weighted fractional Fourier transform (DCGWFRFT) based waveform design method was proposed. The concept of computational diversity was introduced, and the diversity performance was improved via moderate computational resources without requiring channel state information at the transmitter. The principle of computational diversity of DCGWFRFT based waveform was firstly analyzed, and a DCGWFRFT based waveform design and transform process, which could be adopted combined with existing diversity methods, was then proposed according to the principle.Theoretical analysis proves that the proposed waveform design and transform process can perfectly recover the original transmitted signal in noise-free case, and the power of error of proposed waveform is distributed more evenly than that of untransformed waveform in noisy case.Simulation results show that the performance of DCGWFRFT based waveform has an advantage of at least 1.7 dB in bit signal-to-noise ratio compared with untransformed waveform when bit error rate is 10-3.…”
