RFreeTrack: RFID non-contact robust positioning system based on differential phase holography by Linqing GUI, Yi JIANG, Qingyun ZHANG, Fu XIAO

    Published 2024-03-01
“…To address the issue of large positioning errors in complex environments within non-contact RFID-based positioning systems, RFreeTrack system was proposed.Commercial RFID equipment was used to calculate the reflected signals from targets, achieving high-precision non-contact positioning in complex environment.Firstly, a search method based on time-series similarity was proposed to employ for calibrating static signals, thus significantly enhanced the robustness of target reflection signal extraction.Secondly, a non-contact positioning method based on differential phase holography was introduced to eliminate the influence of the reader antenna’s position, thus the accuracy of positioning was improved and the complexity of system was deployment reduced as well. Finally, a high-precision non-contact positioning system prototype was realized.Experimental results indicate that in complex environments, the phase of the target reflection signals extracted using the calibrated static signals has a 68.8% lower error compared to existing methods.Based on the previously calibrated static reflection signals, the average positioning error using differential phase holography in complex environments is 0.040 8 m, and has a 50.6% improvement on location over existing methods.…”

Study on Information Extraction of Water Bodyin Plain RiverNetwork Area Based on Multi-temporalGF-1 Image by LIAO Yubing, ZHOU Feng

    Published 2020-01-01
“…In order to solve the mixture of pixels such as the towns, shadow and bare earth in the extraction of remote sensing information of water body in Plain River Network Area, based onmulti-temporal GF-1 image, this paper proposes a decision tree model combining the Normalized Differential Vegetation Index (NDVI), Normalized Differential Water Index (NDWI), and near-infrared albedo for water body information extraction, and conducts a study taking the typical plain atthe lower reaches of Yangtze and Huai River. The results show that compared with other methods including single-band threshold and Shadow Water Index (SWI), the multi-temporalspectral information in newly proposed method can effectively eliminate the mixture of pixels such as the towns, shadow and the bare earth, improve the extraction accuracy of smaller water bodies with an overall accuracy of 93% and a Kappa coefficient of 0.85,and reasonably show a spatial distribution of water surface rate with a declining trend from West to East, which could provide a reference for the information extraction of water body in other plains as well.…”

Multi-dimensional adaptive transmission technique for shortto-medium reach optical fiber communication system by Ming TANG, Xi CHEN

    Published 2019-11-01
“…According to the features of short-to-medium reach optical fiber communication systems, three high performance adaptive modulation and coding schemes were investigated. In the first one,a new dimension, forward error correction (FEC),was introduced to the traditional bit and power loading (BPL) scheme, and the three-dimensional adaptive modulation and coding were achieved. The modulation format and FEC code were allocated based on look-up table (LUT).The proposed algorithm has lower complexity and higher data rate compared to the BPL scheme. The second one was also based on LUT method where one similar data rate with the BPL scheme was achieved using partitioned precoding, but peak-to-average power ratio was reduced up to two dB,and the power efficiency was improved. In the last scheme, probabilistic shaping QAM was adopted as the modulation format, and shaping gain and almost indefinitely fine modulation granularity were achieved at the expense of certain complexity. With adaptive partitioned precoding, without decreasing data rate the number of PS-QAM was limited to reduce the complexity. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme outperforms the BPL scheme in terms of data rate and receiver sensitivity.…”
