Health Assessment of the Lower Reaches of Longhe River under Watershed Systematic Treatment by YU Binjing, FU Yicheng

    Published 2022-01-01
“…River health assessment is the basis for watershed planning, systematic treatment, and ecological restoration. The lower reaches of the Longhe River in Langfang suffer fragile ecology and lack water fluidity, showing a poor water environment. To accurately assess the ecological health of rivers severely disturbed by human activities and identify the fragility factors in the ecosystem,we construct a health assessment index system for the Longhe River based on the analytic hierarchy process (AHP).The river health assessment index system consists of five aspects:hydrological integrity, physical structural integrity, chemical integrity, biological integrity, and social function integrity. The Langfang section of Longhe River is generally in a healthy state with a health assessment score of 75.18.According to the assessment results, the Longhe River watershed has problems such as large development and utilization of water resources, low wetland retention rate, serious artificial disturbance in the riparian zone, and poor quality of the upstream water. The proposed assessment method could provide a reference for the health assessment of rivers under severe artificial control.…”

Study on Hydrodynamic Mechanism of Feature Points in Tidal Reach of Lower Minjiang River by LIAO Tingting, CHEN Mingxing

    Published 2020-01-01
“…To accurately determine the roughness of bed surface of the tidal reach, and explore the response relationship between the flow velocity of downstream feature points and the tidal level, the flow velocity of feature points and that of the Guantou, according to different vegetation on different elevation above the water, and different sand size in different beds under water, this paper determines the roughness of underlying surface, and accurately simulates and analyzes the hydrodynamic characteristics of tidal reach of the Minjiang River. The results show that:The periodic changes of tidal level fit well with the verification results of measured values, and both the tidal level and the flow velocity show periodic changes. There is a response lag between the change trend of tidal level and flow velocity. The farther the feature point of the tidal reach away from the estuary, the longer the lag time of flow velocity, and the linear equation of the trend of both is y=0.0384x.…”
