The Influence of the Farming System and Forecrop on the Yield and Chemical and Health-Promoting Composition of Spring Wheat Grain
Published 2024-12-01“…The organic system was proven to have an effect on reducing spring wheat yield, on average by 23%, compared to the conventional system (the grain yield was, respectively, 4.59 t ha−1 compared to 5.96 t ha−1). In spite of the lower yield potential, the organic cultivation of spring wheat significantly improved the quality and health-promoting parameters of this cereal grain. …”

The Effects of C. lacerata on Insulin Resistance in Type 2 Diabetes Patients
Published 2022-01-01“…Twelve-week administration of C. lacerata in T2DM patients resulted in significant improvement in insulin resistance, especially in those with lower insulin sensitivity. A larger population study with a longer follow-up period and an effort to elucidate the mechanism is warranted to further assess the effects of C. lacerata on T2DM patients.…”

Pre-operative DNA methylation marks as predictors of weight loss outcomes after sleeve gastrectomy
Published 2025-02-01“…KEGG enrichment analysis showed that pathways involved in the signalling of MAPK, Wnt, mTor, FoxO and AMPK, among others, were involved in weight loss trajectory.A stepwise logistic regression using the DMPs with an absolute Δβ >0.2 showed that higher methylation levels in the CpG sites cg02405213 (mapping to JAK2) (OR: 1.20098, [0.9586, 1.5044]) and cg01702330 (OR: 2.4426, [0.5761, 10.3567]), were shown to be associated with a higher probability of achieving >60 %EWL after sleeve gastrectomy, whereas higher methylation levels in the CpG site cg04863892 (mapping to HOXA5) were associated with lower probability of achieving >60 %EWL after sleeve gastrectomy (OR: 0.7966, [0.5637, 1.1259]). …”

International REACH forgiveness intervention: a multisite randomised controlled trial
Published 2024-04-01“…The analytic sample consisted of n=4598 participants, median age 26 and 73% female.Interventions At each site, participants were randomly assigned to either immediate receipt of a self-directed forgiveness workbook intervention, or to receipt after a 2 week delay.Main outcomes measures The primary outcomes were unforgiveness (Transgression-Related Interpersonal Motivations Inventory-18), depression symptoms, and anxiety symptoms (Brief Symptom Inventory-18) measured at 2 weeks following intervention assignment. Results At 2 weeks follow-up, unforgiveness was lower among the immediate-treatment group compared with the delayed-treatment group (standardised mean difference=−0.53 (95% CI=−0.58 to –0.47)); similar patterns were found for depression (standardised mean difference=−0.22 (95% CI=−0.28 to –0.16)) and anxiety symptoms (standardised mean difference=−0.21 (95% CI=−0.27 to –0.15)).Conclusions A brief workbook intervention promoted forgiveness and reduced depression and anxiety symptoms. …”
