Seismic Damage Analysis of Large-Span Tied-Arch Bridge with Concrete-Filled Steel Tubes Subjected to Near-Fault Ground Motion
Published 2022-01-01“…The results indicated that the probability of damage caused by near-fault earthquakes is significantly higher than that by non-near-fault ground motions, and velocity pulses may cause more severe damages to certain components of the bridge during lower-intensity ground motions at certain excitation angles. …”

Interleaved-LoRa Transmission Scheme for Satellite IoT
Published 2023-03-01“…The transmission distance of satellite IoT is much further than terrestrial IoT, resulting in a signifi cant power loss on the transmission link. Thus the received signal power at a receiver will be signifi cantly lower.Combining a high-performance FEC coding and LoRa modulation with a signifi cant spreading factor enables reliable communication at very low signal-to-noise ratios. However, LoRa modulation dramatically decrease spectral effi ciency as the spreading factor increases. An interleaved LoRa transmission scheme that could achieved high spectral effi ciency with a low bit error rate (BER) was proposed.Firstly, a non-coherent soft demodulation algorithm was presented for LoRa and the corresponding performance comparison with the use of Turbo and LDPC codes. Then proposed a soft demodulation algorithm for interleaved-LoRa transmission.Simulation results showed that Turbo coded interleaved-LoRa system outperformed the uncoded system by about 4 dB at a BER=10-5, which was equivalently to a 55%~57% improvement on communication distance in free space.Furthermore, the spectral effi ciency was improved by approximately 23% compared to the existing Turbo-LoRa scheme.…”

Limit Equilibrium Method for Stability Analysis of Dangerous Rock Considering Surrounding Rock Constraints
Published 2024-01-01“…The proposed method considered the constraint effects of the back margin for dangerous rock of falling and sliding types with structural surfaces controlled by the upper margin and lower margin, respectively. For sliding-type dangerous rock with double structural surfaces, the influence of the fissure water pressure on the back margin was considered. …”

Factors influencing the sustainability of university-incubated agribusinesses: the role of stigma failure, personality and motivation in Kenya
Published 2025-12-01“…To enhance the success of incubated agribusinesses, training programs should focus on necessity-driven motivations, while policymakers should consider interventions that reduce unemployment by institutionalizing UIPs. These could lower entrepreneurial opportunity cost and encourage more students to engage in sustainable agribusiness ventures.…”

Analysis of ACAM Data for Trace Gas Retrievals during the 2011 DISCOVER-AQ Campaign
Published 2015-01-01“…From the standard deviations of the fitting residuals, the SNRs of ACAM nadir measurements are estimated to vary from ~300 at 310 nm to ~1000 in the blue spectral region; the zenith data are noisier due to reduced levels of illumination and lower system throughput and also show many more pixels with abrupt anomalous values; therefore, a new method is developed to derive a solar irradiance reference at the top of the atmosphere (TOA) from average nadir measurements, at instrument spectral resolution and including instrument calibration characteristics. …”

Recycler Reaction for the Government Behavior in Closed-Loop Supply Chain Distribution Network: Based on the System Dynamics
Published 2015-01-01“…When recyclers respond negatively to government policy making, recycling will reduce the proportion of recyclers. (2) When the recovery percentage of recyclers improves, manufacturers, Retailer 1, and Retailer 2 quantity fluctuations will reduce and the bullwhip effect will diminish. (3) When the proportion of recycled parts recyclers is lowered, manufacturers, Retailer 1, and Retailer 2 inventory fluctuation will increase and the bullwhip effect will be enhanced. (4) When recyclers recycling product delays increased, volatility manufacturers order quantity will rise, but there is little change in the amount of fluctuation of orders of the two retailers. (5) When recycling parts recyclers delay increases, fluctuations in the supplier order quantity will rise, but there is little change in the amount of fluctuation of orders of the two retailers.…”
