Sparse signal transmission under lossy wireless links based on double process of compressive sensing by Peng SUN, Gui-nan LI, Lian-tao WU, Zhi WANG

    Published 2017-04-01
“…In resource-limited wireless sensor networks, links with poor quality hinder its large-scale applications seriously. Thanks to the inherent sparse property of signals in WSN,the framework of sparse signal transmission based on double process of compressive sensing was proposed, providing an insight into a new way of real-time,accurate and energy-efficient sparse signal transmission.Firstly, the random packet loss during transmission under lossy wireless links was modeled as a linear dimension-reduced measurement process of CS (a passive process of CS).Then, considering that a large packet was often adopted in WSN for higher transmission efficiency,a random linear dimension-reduced projection (a simple source coding operation) was employed at the sender node (an active process of CS) to prevent block data loss. Now,the raw signal could be recovered from the lossy data at the receiver node using CS reconstruction algorithms.Furtherly, according to the theory of CS reconstruction and the formula of packet reception rate in wireless communication, the minimum compression ratio and the maximum packet length allowed were obtained.Extensive simulations demonstrate that the reliability of data transmission and its accuracy, the data transmission volume, the transmission delay and energy consumption could be greatly optimized by means of proposed method.…”

Intelligent phase imaging guided by physics models by Zhen LIU, Hao ZHU, You ZHOU, Zhan MA, Xun CAO

    Published 2023-06-01
“…Implicit neural representation characterizes the mapping between the signal’s coordinate to its attributes, and has been widely used in the optimization of inverse problems by embedding the physics process into the loss function. However, the implicit neural representation is suffering the low convergence speed and accuracy from the random initialization of the network parameters. The meta-learning algorithm for providing implicit neural representation with a strong prior of network parameters was proposed, thus enhancing the optimization efficiency and accuracy for solving inverse problems. To address the important issue of lens less phase imaging, an intelligent method on phase imaging was proposed based on the snapshot lens less sensing model.By embedding the optical diffraction propagation theory into the design of loss function for implicit neural representation, the dependency of large-scale labelled dataset in traditional deep learning-based methods was eliminated and accurate phase image from a single diffraction measurement image was provided.Furthermore, the meta-learning model was introduced for initializing network to further improve the efficiency and accuracy of network training.Numerical simulation results show that the proposed method can achieve a PSNR improvement of more than 11 dB compared to the conventional method. The experimental results in real data show that the phase image reconstructed by the proposed method is clearer and has fewer artifacts.…”

Layout Optimization of Pajiang River Flood Storage and Detention Area Based on Joint Flood Control and Operation Model by XIN Yue, LIAO Xiaolong, ZHONG Yixuan, QUAN Xujian, YU Baishun

    Published 2023-01-01
“…Flood storage and detention areas play an irreplaceable role in flood control and disaster mitigation in river basins. However, the significant weakness of safety layout and safety facility construction of flood storage and detention areas in Pajiang River results in difficult decision making and great loss in flood control application, constraining the application effect of flood control. To this end, this paper proposes a layout optimization scheme by combining the flood control capability in each dike and socioeconomic conditions in the studied detention areas. Then, joint flood control and operation model related to Feilaixia Reservoir-Pajiang River flood storage and detention areas is employed to analyze and calculate the flood control effects before and after the optimized layout schemes. Finally, the recommended layout optimization scheme of the detention areas is selected by comprehensive analysis. Results show that by adding Baishatang dike and Guanluchun dike as safety areas of Pajiang River Basin, the potential inundation cultivated area decreases by 163.2 hm2 and the number of people prone to flood risks decreases by 3 002.This indicates the optimized layout scheme can reduce flood detention loss and ensure flood control safety. The results provide technical references and an approach for layout optimization of other detention areas.…”
