TAK-242 improves sepsis-associated acute kidney injury in rats by inhibiting the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway
Published 2024-12-01“…Oxidative stress-related factors, mitochondrial dysfunction-related indicators in each group were measured; the levels of inflammatory factors in serum and kidney tissue of rats were examined. Finally, the expression of proteins related to the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway was observed by western blot. Results Compared with the CLP + vehicle and CLP + TAK-242 groups, the CLP + TAK-242 group reduced blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine (Cr), cystatin-C (Cys-C), reactive oxygen species (ROS), malondialdehyde (MDA), and inflammatory factors levels (p < 0.01), as well as increased superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity of CLP rats (p < 0.01). …”

A bioinformatics approach for identifying the probable cause of the cross-interaction of antibodies to the antigenic protein HPV16 L1 with the HPV6 L1 protein
Published 2021-12-01“…This paper describes an attempt to analyze, with the aid of bioinformatics resources (programs and databases), the probable cause of the cross-interaction of antibodies against HPV16 L1 with antigenic protein HPV6 L1, which has been revealed in the investigation of the candidate vaccine obtained on the base of a plant expression system (tomato plants). In our opinion, the most likely reason for the cross-interaction of antibodies with antigens of different pathogenic HPV types is the similarity of their antigenic determinants. …”

A new and automated risk prediction of coronary artery disease using clinical endpoints and medical imaging-derived patient-specific insights: protocol for the retrospective GeoCAD...
Published 2022-06-01“…The objectives are to (1) profile CTCA images with respect to variations in anatomical shape and associated haemodynamic risk expressing, at least in part, an individual’s CAD risk, (2) develop a machine-learning algorithm for the rapid assessment of anatomical risk directly from unprocessed CTCA images and (3) to build a novel CAD risk model combining traditional risk factors with these novel anatomical biomarkers to provide a higher accuracy CAD risk prediction tool.Ethics and dissemination The study protocol has been approved by the St Vincent’s Hospital Human Research Ethics Committee, Sydney—2020/ETH02127 and the NSW Population and Health Service Research Ethics Committee—2021/ETH00990. …”

Profiling the Resident and Infiltrating Monocyte/Macrophages during Rejection following Kidney Transplantation
Published 2020-01-01“…Furthermore, previously defined genes were mapped to all monocyte/macrophage types in the kidney and enriched the differential genes of the two main subpopulations using gene expression databases. Considering that various cases of rejection may be of the monocyte/macrophage type, the present data may serve as a reference for studies regarding immune tolerance following kidney transplantation.…”
