Effect of Transient Nicotine Load Shock on the Performance of Pseudomonas sp. HF-1 Bioaugmented Sequencing Batch Reactors
Published 2016-01-01“…The results showed that, under 500–2500 mg/L of transient nicotine shocks, all the reactors still could realize 100% of nicotine degradation in 4 days of recovery, while the key nicotine degradation enzyme HSP hydroxylase increased in expression. Though the dramatic increase of activities of ROS, MDA, SOD, and CAT suggested that transient nicotine shock loads could induce oxidative stress on microorganisms in activated sludge, a decrease to control level demonstrated that most of the microorganisms could resist 500–1500 mg/L of transient nicotine shock under the protection from strain HF-1. …”

Investigating causal relationships between plasma proteins and lung adenocarcinoma: result from proteomics and Mendelian randomization study
Published 2025-01-01“…Methods We collected plasma samples from 28 healthy individuals (H) and 56 LUAD patients and analyzed them using LC–MS/MS-based proteomics to determine differential expression plasma proteins (DEPPs). Then, the DEPPs were subjected to a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) study based on an “Inverse variance weighted (IVW)” approach to investigate the causal relationships between DEPPs and LUAD. …”

The Isosteroid Alkaloid Imperialine from Bulbs of Fritillaria cirrhosa Mitigates Pulmonary Functional and Structural Impairment and Suppresses Inflammatory Response in a COPD-Like...
Published 2016-01-01“…Our data show that imperialine mitigates pulmonary functional and structural impairment and suppressed inflammatory response in a COPD-like rat model by mediating expression of related cytokines in lung tissues of the COPD-like rats, such as IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, TNF-α, NF-κB, TGF-β1, MMP-9, and TIMP-1.…”

Morphological Characterization and Assessment of Genetic Variability, Character Association, and Divergence in Soybean Mutants
Published 2014-01-01“…Narrow differences between phenotypic and genotypic coefficients of variation (PCV and GCV) for most of the characters revealed less environmental influence on their expression. High values of heritability and genetic advance with high GCV for branch number, plant height, pod number, and seed weight can be considered as favorable attributes for soybean improvement through phenotypic selection and high expected genetic gain can be achieved. …”

The Use of Antisense-Mediated Inhibition to Delineate The Role of Inflammatory Agents in The Pathophysiology of Spinal Cord Injury
Published 2002-01-01“…Hybridization of the oligonucleotide to the mRNA then interferes with the normal processing of that mRNA at the ribosome or targets the RNA duplex for cleavage by the RNA digestive enzyme, ribonuclease H, resulting in greatly reduced expression of the coded protein. This effectively reduces the amount of corresponding translated protein product and experiments can be designed to examine the requirement of particular inflammatory agents in eliciting specific deleterious responses after injury, e.g., cell death.…”
