Genetic Variations in Nucleotide Excision Repair Pathway Genes and Risk of Allergic Rhinitis
Published 2022-01-01“…We evaluated the correlation between 19 candidate single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in NER pathway genes and AR susceptibility by a case-control study in a Chinese population, which contains 508 AR cases and 526 controls. Results. Three independent SNPs were identified as significantly associated with AR susceptibility, including ERCC1 rs2298881 C>A (recessive model: adjusted odds ratios OR=0.30, 95%confidence interval CI=0.18–0.50, P<0.0001), ERCC1 rs11615 G>A (dominant model: adjusted OR=1.44, 95%CI=1.04–2.01, P=0.030), and XPC rs2228001 A>C (dominant model: adjusted OR=0.68, 95%CI=0.49–0.95, P=0.024). …”

Toxicity of formaldehyde, and its role in the formation of harmful and aromatic compounds during food processing
Published 2025-01-01“…This study aims to investigate the fate of formaldehyde in food processing from two key perspectives: (1) its role in the formation of other harmful compounds, such as heterocyclic aromatic amines, methylimidazole, advanced glycation end-products, and N-nitrosamines, and (2) its potential to contribute to the generation of aromatic compounds, including oxygen-, sulfur-, and nitrogen-containing heterocyclic aromas. This review provides insights that may help food scientists develop strategies to mitigate formaldehyde's harmful effects while potentially harnessing its role in producing beneficial aromatic compounds.…”

Modified Trochanteric Flip Osteotomy in Varus Intertrochanteric Osteotomy for Treatment of Legg–Calvé–Perthes Disease
Published 2025-01-01“…Conclusions: Combining PFVO with a modified trochanteric flip osteotomy addresses biomechanical issues associated with PFVO, potentially improving hip containment and abductor muscle strength. This approach may offer advantages over traditional osteotomy techniques in treating LCPD, and it appears to produce a superior functional outcome in particular in regard to limping when compared to conventional PFVO. …”

Phylogenetic Analysis of Spike and Envelope Proteins for a Number of Bat Coronaviruses for Understanding the Hypothesis of Possible Origin for the Novel 2019- nCoV
Published 2020-12-01“…Phylogenetic tree analysis for Spike protein revealed that all 2019-nCoV related coronaviruses isolated from these species of species are discovered in China and Hong Kong and the Middle East bat are less likely to contribute in spreading or to become the origin of 2019-nCoV and all coronaviruses that from Hong Kong and China are located into one clade next to the clade that contains 2019-nCoV coronaviruses which indicates that this group of coronaviruses are genetically different for 2019-nCoV; moreover, Hong Kong and USA bat coronaviruses does not contain the bat coronavirus from China and are located into one clade far from the clade that contains 2019-nCoV indicates that all coronaviruses are genetically very different from 2019-nCoV, and USA bat coronavirus may has no role in generating of 2019-nCoV. …”
