Finite-Time Path-Following Control of Underactuated AUVs with Actuator Limits Using Disturbance Observer-Based Backstepping Control
Published 2025-01-01“…The proposed cascaded closed-loop control scheme can be described in two separate steps: (1) A kinematic law based on a finite-time backstepping control (FTBSC) is introduced to transform the 3D path-following position errors into the command velocities; (2) The actual control inputs are designed in the dynamic controller using an adaptive fixed-time disturbance observer (AFTDO)-based FTBSC to stabilize the velocity tracking errors. …”

Integrated 6-DOF Orbit-Attitude Dynamical Modeling and Control Using Geometric Mechanics
Published 2017-01-01“…Recently, exponential coordinates of SE(3) have been used in dynamics and control of the 6-DOF motion, however, only on the kinematical level. In this paper, we will improve the current method by adopting exponential coordinates on the dynamical level, by giving the relation between the second-order derivative of exponential coordinates and spacecraft’s accelerations. …”

Underlying-event studies with strange hadrons in pp collisions at $$\sqrt{s} = 13$$ s = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector
Published 2024-12-01“…None of the hadronisation and underlying-event physics models considered can describe the data over the full kinematic range considered. Events with a leading charged-particle jet in the range of $$10 < p_T \le 40$$ 10 < p T ≤ 40 GeV are studied using the number of prompt charged particles in the transverse region. …”

A Comparative Numerical Study on the Performances and Vortical Patterns of Two Bioinspired Oscillatory Mechanisms: Undulating and Pure Heaving
Published 2015-01-01“…Navier-Stokes equations are solved, by a pressure-based finite volume method solver, in an arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) framework domain containing a 2D NACA0012 foil moving with prescribed kinematics. Some of the important findings are (1) the thrust production of the heaving foil begins at lower St and has a greater growing slope with respect to the St; (2) the undulating mechanism has some limitations to produce high thrust forces; (3) the undulating foil shows a lower power consumption and higher efficiency; (4) changing the Reynolds number (Re) in a constant St affects the performance of the oscillations; and (5) there is a distinguishable appearance of leading edge vortices in the wake of the heaving foil without observable ones in the wake of the undulating foil, especially at higher St.…”

A Finite Element Method orthotropic multi-yield elastic-inelastic model of a wood-adhesive-steel composite
Published 2025-01-01“…In this work, the Finite Element Method model is formulated within the theories of Continuum Mechanics and irreversible thermodynamics of deformation, finite strains hypothesis, and kinematics of large displacements. For the wood material constituent an orthotropic elastic–plastic-damage constitutive law is adopted, to address the effects of irreversible strains, formulated by a multi-surface yield, both for plasticity and damage, where each yield surface operates disjointedly each other, at the level of stress–strain component. …”
