Published 2025-01-01
“…Severe IVH was more prevalent in the lower gestational age groups: 40.0% in infants at 23 + 1 to 26 weeks, 10.7% in infants at 26 + 1 to 28 weeks, and 1.4% in infants at 28 + 1 to 32 weeks (p < 0.001).Logistic regression analysis revealed two independent risk factors: failure to withdraw invasive ventilation within the first week (OR = 3.276, 95% CI = 1.465–7.324, p = 0.004) and the use of vasoactive drugs within the first week (OR = 2.112, 95% CI = 1.002–4.451, p = 0.049). The ROC curve showed a sensitivity of 68.3%, specificity of 81.3%, and an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.792. …”

Prognostic implications of system inflammation response index in atrial fibrillation patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus by Yang Chen, Bin Zhou, Chaoquan Peng, Yong Liu, Weiyan Lai

Published 2025-01-01
“…When treating the SIRI as a continuous variable, a higher SIRI was significantly associated with increased all-cause mortality both in-hospital [hazard ratio (HR) 1.015, 95%CI 1.010–1.020, P = 0.015] and 1-year (HR 1. 016, 95%CI 1.008–1.015, P = 0.012). Additionally, compared to patients with the lowest tertiles of SIRI, those with the highest tertiles of SIRI possessed significantly higher all-cause mortality both in-hospital and 1-year after multivariable adjustment, and this relationship remained pronounced in AF and T2DM patients [in-hospital mortality (HR: 1.863, 95% CI 1.189–2.918, P = 0.007); one-year mortality (HR: 2.143, 95% CI 1.621–2.831, P < 0.001)]. …”

Is body mass index associated with the incidence of endometriosis and the severity of dysmenorrhoea: a case–control study in China? by Qi Chen, Yifei Gao, Yunhui Tang, Luling Lin, Mingzhi Zhao, George Qiaoqi Chen, Shouzhen Chen

Published 2020-09-01
“…According to the BMI categories for Asians/Chinese by WHO (underweight: <18.5 kg/m2, normal weight: 18.5–22.99 kg/m2, overweight: 23–27.49 kg/m2, obese: ≥27.50 kg/m2), overall, there was no difference in the association of BMI and endometriosis (p=0.112). 60% of patients were of normal weight. However, the OR of obese patients (BMI over 27.50 kg/m2) having endometriosis was1.979 (95% CI 1.15 to 3.52, p=0.0185), compared with women with normal weight. 50.3% patients reported dysmenorrhoea, and the OR of developing severe dysmenorrhoea in obese patients (BMI over 27.50 kg/m2) was 3.64 (95% CI 1.195 to 10.15, p=0.025), compared with patients with normal weight. Conclusion Our data demonstrate that overall there was no association between BMI and the incidence of endometriosis, but there was a significant increase in the incidence of endometriosis in obese women, compared with women with normal weight. …”

Relation of Follicular Fluid Soluble Receptor for Advanced Glycation End-Products Concentration and Anti Mullerian Hormone in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and Non-PCOS Women Referring... by Neda Emami, Ashraf Moini, Samira Vesali

Published 2025-01-01
“…Prior to the in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure, fluid samples were collected and levels of FFsRAGEs and serum AMH were recorded through the use of commercially available ELISA kits. Results: Correlation analysis, without age adjusting, revealed a statistically considerable and positive associationbetween FF sRAGE and serum AMH concentration in PCOS women (P=0.012, r=0.596). Moreover, after age stratification, the same pattern was observed in some age groups; in PCOS women aged 40 years or older (r=1, P<0.001), aswell as those younger than 30 years (r=0.922, P=0.003), correlation analysis demonstrated a significant and positiverelationship between FF sRAGE and serum AMH levels. Conclusion: The association between sRAGE and AMH in women with PCOS is primarily affected by their age, whereas non-PCOS women showed no relationship. …”
