Elucidation of the mechanism of berberine against gastric mucosa injury in a rat model with chronic atrophic gastritis based on a combined strategy of multi-omics and molecular bio...
Published 2025-01-01“…Integrating transcriptomics and metabolomics analyses indicated that BBR directly regulated Carnitine C3:0, LPC (0:0/20:3), L-Glutamic Acid and FFA (15:0) by acting on SLC25A20, PNLIPRP1, PLA2G4C, GSR, GFPT2, GCLM, CTPS1, ACSL1, ACOT4 and ACOT2. 16S rRNA sequencing revealed that BBR could restore the balance of gut microbiota dysbiosis by significantly regulating the relative abundance of unclassified_Muribaculaceae and Lactobacillus_johnsonii.ConclusionThis study demonstrated that BBR alleviates CAG through the regulation of the MAPK signaling pathway, metabolic disorders and gut microbiota dysbiosis, thereby revealing the complex mechanism of BBR in relation to alleviating CAG from multiple levels and perspectives.…”

The Campylobacter jejuni BumS sensor phosphatase detects the branched short-chain fatty acids isobutyrate and isovalerate as direct cues for signal transduction
Published 2025-02-01“…Here, we expanded the repertoire of cues sensed by BumS to the branched-short chain fatty acids isobutyrate and isovalerate that are also abundant in the lower intestines. Both isobutyrate and isovalerate are potent, direct cues for BumS, whereas butyrate is an indirect cue. …”

A 16-week randomized controlled trial of a fish oil and whey protein-derived supplement to improve physical performance in older adults losing autonomy-A pilot study.
Published 2021-01-01“…
Conclusion
Because of low eligibility, the pilot study was interrupted and deemed non-feasible; adherence to rigorous study assessments and to supplements was adequate except for long-term fish oil. The non-amended protocol may be applied to populations with greater functional capacity.…”

Disruption of Gut Microbiota and Associated Fecal Metabolites in Collagen-Induced Arthritis Mice During the Early Stage
Published 2025-02-01“…Correlation analysis showed significant correlations between specific gut microbial abundances and fecal metabolite levels. Especially, SCFAs were strongly associated with Bifidobacterium, Alistipes, Ruminococcus, Anaerotruncus, and Allobaculum. Conclusion: These findings suggest that collagen immunization leads to disruption of gut microbiome and induces changes of fecal metabolites in mice, which may play a key role in early development of RA in CIA mice. Keywords: gut microbiota, fecal metabolites, short-chain fatty acids, preclinical stage, collagen-induced arthritis…”
