Balancing water saving, market attractiveness, and pollution control in crop spatial planting structure planning of arid regions by Longbin Hao, Shouhong Zhang, Fan Zhang, Yufei Ren, Xinyu Zhang, Jing Yan

    Published 2025-03-01
“…This approach is applied to a case study in the middle reaches of the Heihe River in northwest China. Results indicate that: (1) The grid-based 0–1 integer multi-objective approach can effectively make tradeoff among market attractiveness, pollution control, and crop suitability for crop planting structure planning in arid regions. (2) Optimal crop planting structure can increase agricultural planting profits by 4.679 billion CNY, while reduces system agricultural non-point source pollution and total water allocation by 34.72 % and 10.19 %, respectively. (3) The multi-objective approach shows better performance than single-objective models by comparing the Synthetic Degree (SD), Sustainability Index (SI), and Approximation Degree (AD). …”

High peripheral T cell diversity is associated with lower risk of toxicity and superior response to dual immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy in patients with metastatic NSCLC by Alexandre Reuben, Mehmet Altan, Latasha Little, Jianjun Zhang, Ajay Sheshadri, Hai T Tran, Mara B Antonoff, Stephen G Swisher, John V Heymach, Saumil Gandhi, Natalie Vokes, Ziyi Li, Ruoxing Li, Runzhe Chen, Joshua Baguley, Jefferson Sinson, Greg Lizee

    Published 2024-12-01
“…Blood samples were systematically obtained at baseline (n=107), after 12 weeks of ipilimumab and nivolumab (n=91), and at the time of grade ≥2 irAEs (n=77). For analysis of T-cell repertoire, we performed immunoSEQ to assess the complementary determining region 3β region of the TCR involved in antigen binding. Results A total of 250 samples from 119 patients were analyzed. …”

Unravelling the multi-scale structure of vertebrate scavenger communities: The role of beta-diversity in livestock carcass consumption by María Eugenia Cabrera-García, Patricia Mateo-Tomás, José Hernán Sarasola, Juan I. Zanón Martínez, Beatriz Martínez-Miranzo, Pedro P. Olea

    Published 2025-03-01
“…A total of 31 carcasses, 22 of cow and nine of sheep, were monitored using remote cameras in cropland and natural habitats, recording consumption by 10 vertebrate species (four birds and six mammals). 50 % of scavenger species were observed at carcass level (α1 = 4.94 species), a contribution lower than expected by chance. While the turnover of species among carcasses (β1 diversity) significantly contributed (40 %) to regional richness (γ diversity), turnover of species between carrion types and habitats (β2 diversity) contributed a smaller fraction (10 %). …”
