Tube2FEM: a general-purpose highly automated pipeline for flow-related processes in (embedded) tubular objects by Hani Cheikh Sleiman, Kevin M. Moerman, Diana C. De Oliveira, Joseph Jacob, Nesrin Mogulkoc, Brian R. Davidson, Simon Walker-Samuel, Rebecca J. Shipley

    Published 2025-08-01
“…This paper presents an open-source pipeline for simulating flow and flow-related processes in (embedded) tubular structures. Addressing a gap in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and simulation sciences, it facilitates the transition from raw three-dimensional imaging, graph networks or computer aided design (CAD) models of tubular objects to refined, simulation-ready meshes. …”

Resource management in blockchain-enabled heterogeneous edge computing system by Ping ZHANG, Shilin LI, Yiming LIU, Xiaoqi QIN, Xiaodong XU

    Published 2020-10-01
“…In blockchain-enabled mobile edge computing (BMEC) systems,a new class of blockchain application related computation tasks was introduced to the system.Due to the differences of parallelism among computation tasks, heterogenous computing framework was introduced to suitably split various computation tasks on processors with vastly different processing power to achieve efficient task execution.Under the limited computation and communication resources,a system-wide utility maximization problem by jointly considering heterogeneous processor scheduling, computation and bandwidth resource allocation was formulated as a mixed-integer nonlinear programming problem. To solve the problem efficiently, the formulated problem was transformed into two sub-problems,namely application-driven heterogeneous processor scheduling and joint resource allocation, and a Lagrange-dual based algorithm was proposed.Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can effectively improve the system-wide utility of the BMEC system.…”

The Process of Using Power Supply Technical Solutions for Electronic Security Systems Operated in Smart Buildings: Modelling, Simulation and Reliability Analysis by Michał Wiśnios, Michał Mazur, Sebastian Tatko, Jacek Paś, Adam Rosiński, Jarosław Mateusz Łukasiak, Wiktor Koralewski, Janusz Dyduch

    Published 2024-12-01
“…The reliability analysis of the power supply and the determination of rational parameters conducted in the article are crucial for achieving all the functionalities of ESSs in SBs, as envisioned during the design process. The article is divided into six chapters, structured to address the topics sequentially: an introduction to the state of the issue, a critical literature review, an analysis of the power supply for selected ESSs, implementation of renewable energy sources, the development of a proprietary model and operational graph, a computer simulation and conclusions.…”

Parallel Business Processes Modeling by G. N. Kalyanov

    Published 2021-08-01
“…The scenario of executing a parallel business process is formalized. To estimate the execution time of a parallel business process, the basic theorems of the theory of computational processes are adapted in order to focus them on business processes, recommendations are given on the rules for building parallel business processes. …”

A neural master equation framework for multiscale modeling of molecular processes: application to atomic-scale plasma processes by Shoubhanik Nath, Joseph R. Vella, David B. Graves, Ali Mesbah

    Published 2025-07-01
“…Abstract Plasma-surface interactions (PSI) play a crucial role in microelectronics fabrication; however, their multiscale nature and array of complex, often unknown interactions make computational modeling of PSIs extremely difficult. To this end, we propose a general neural master equation (NME) framework that uses master equations to describe the dynamics of a molecular process, wherein neural networks learned from atomistic simulations represent unknown transitions between different system states. …”
