BaCoN (Balanced Correlation Network) improves prediction of gene buffering
Published 2025-04-01“…Abstract Buffering between genes, where one gene can compensate for the loss of another gene, is fundamental for robust cellular functions. While experimentally testing all possible gene pairs is infeasible, gene buffering can be predicted genome-wide under the assumption that a gene’s buffering capacity depends on its expression level and its absence primes a severe fitness phenotype of the buffered gene. …”

Metacognitions of substance-addicted patients compared to individuals without a diagnosis of a psychiatric disorder
Published 2019-08-01“…In order to better understand the cognitive and adaptive functioning of the human mind, it is aimed to examine the relationship between the metacognitive problems and dependence associated problems of individuals with substance dependence by comparing the metacognition of the substance-dependent individuals to that of the individuals without a diagnosis of a psychiatric disorder. …”

Evolution of Nova-dependent splicing regulation in the brain.
Published 2007-10-01“…We hypothesize that evolution of Nova-regulated splicing in higher vertebrates proceeds mainly through changes in cis-acting elements, that tissue-specific splicing might in some cases evolve in a single step corresponding to evolution of a YCAY cluster, and that the conservation level of YCAY clusters relates to the functions encoded by the regulated RNAs.…”

Global analysis on a class of multi-group SEIR model with latency and relapse
Published 2015-09-01“…In this paper, we investigate the global dynamics of a multi-group SEIR epidemic model, allowing heterogeneity of the host population, delay in latency and delay due torelapsedistribution for the human population. Our results indicate that when certain restrictions on nonlinear growth rate and incidence are fulfilled, the basic reproduction number $\mathfrak{R}_0$ plays the key role of a global threshold parameter in the sense that the long-time behaviors of the model depend only on $\mathfrak{R}_0$. The proofs of the main results utilize the persistence theory indynamical systems, Lyapunov functionals guided by graph-theoretical approach.…”

Atypical Brain Connectivity During Pragmatic and Semantic Language Processing in Children with Autism
Published 2024-10-01“…Results: Our results showed differences between groups during the pragmatic and semantic language processing, indicating more idiosyncratic connectivity in children with ASD in the Left Somatomotor and Left Limbic networks, suggesting that these networks play a role in task-dependent functional connectivity. Additionally, these functional differences were mainly localized to the left hemisphere.…”
