Lightweight opportunistic routing forwarding strategy based on Markov chain by Feng LI, Ya-li SI, Zhen CHEN, Li-min SHEN

    Published 2017-05-01
“…A lightweight opportunistic routing forwarding strategy (MOR) was proposed based on Markov chain. In the scheme, the execute process of network was divided into a plurality of equal time period, and the random encounter state of node in each time period was represented by activity degree. The state sequence of a plurality of continuous time period constitutes a discrete Markov chain. The activity degree of encounter node was estimated by Markov model to predict its state of future time period, which can enhance the accuracy of activity degree estimation. Then, the method of comprehensive evaluating forwarding utility was designed based on the activity degree of node and the average encounter interval.MOR used the utility of node for making a routing forwarding decision. Each node only maintained a state of last time period and a state transition probability matrix, and a vector recording the average encounter interval of nodes. So,the routing forwarding decision algorithm was simple and efficient, low time and space complexity.Furthermore, the method was proposed to set optimal number of the message copy based on multiple factors, which can effectively balance the utilization of network resources. Results show that compared with existing algorithms,MOR algorithm can effectively increase the delivery ratio and reduce the delivery delay, and lower routing overhead ratio.…”

Cooperative spectrum sensing scheme based on crowd trust and decision-making mechanism by Xiao-mao WANG, Chuan-he HUANG, Yi-long LV, Bin WANG, Xi-ying FAN, Hao ZHOU

    Published 2014-03-01
“…A distributed consensus-based scheme by simulating the crowd trust and decision-making mechanism was proposed. This scheme firstly predicts the dynamic trust value among sensing users by the previous cooperative process, and then generates the user's relative trust value, and makes the data interaction among the users by using the combination of relative trust value and decision-making mechanism. All users' state can reach a consensus as the credible and iterative data interaction. All users get the final results by the determinant algorithm. This new spectrum sensing scheme utilizes the imbalance of each users' sensing ability in the real environment. Each secondary user can maintain cooperation with others only through the local information exchange with the neighbors. It is quite different from traditional spectrum sensing scheme, such as OR-rule,1-out-of-N rule and ordinary iterative method.Three SSDF attacks were analysed,on the basis of the corresponding anti-attack policy was proposed.Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the new scheme is better than the existing cooperative spectrum sensing algorithm in accuracy and security.New scheme not only can improve the accuracy of spectrum sensing but also has the strong anti-attack capability.…”

    Published 2024-12-01
“…Objective To quantify the potential advantages of using 10 year risk prediction models for cardiovascular disease, in combination with risk thresholds specific to both age and sex, to identify individuals at high risk of cardiovascular disease for allocation of statin treatment.Design Prospective open cohort study.Setting Primary care data from the UK Clinical Practice Research Datalink GOLD, linked with hospital admissions from Hospital Episode Statistics and national mortality records from the Office for National Statistics in England, 1 January 2006 to 31 May 2019.Participants 1 046 736 individuals (aged 40-85 years) with no cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or a history of statin treatment at baseline using data from electronic health records.Main outcome measures 10 year risk of cardiovascular disease, calculated with version 2 of the QRISK cardiovascular disease risk algorithm (QRISK2), with two main strategies to identify individuals at high risk: in strategy A, estimated risk was a fixed cut-off value of ≥10% (ie, as per the UK National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines); in strategy B, estimated risk was ≥10% or ≥90th centile of age and sex specific risk distributions. Results Compared with strategy A, strategy B stratified 20 241 (149.8%) more women aged ≤53 years and 9832 (150.2%) more men aged ≤47 years as having a high risk of cardiovascular disease; for all other ages the strategies were the same. …”
