Identification of swine- specific microbial genetic markers using competitive DNA hybridization
Published 2017-03-01“…The putative protein transcript of each sequence was analyzed based on the similarity of gene sequences by using BLASTX with the GenBank non-redundant database, and their biochemical functions were therefrom predicted.Sequence analyses of five hundred randomly selected clones from the libraries obtained by three rounds of metagenomic GFE revealed that this subset contained a total of 384 non-redundant sequences and most sequences (87%) ranged from 400 bp to 600 bp in size. …”

cogsworth: A Gala of COSMIC Proportions Combining Binary Stellar Evolution and Galactic Dynamics
Published 2025-01-01“…Alternatively, several analytic models are available for galactic potentials and star formation histories. cogsworth can also transform the intrinsic simulated population into an observed population using dust maps, bolometric correction functions, and survey selection functions. We provide a detailed explanation of the functionality of cogsworth and demonstrate its capabilities through a series of use cases: (1) we predict the spatial distribution of compact objects and runaways in both dwarf and Milky Way–like galaxies; (2) using a star cluster from a hydrodynamical simulation, we show how supernovae can change the orbits of stars in several ways; and (3) we predict the separation of disrupted binary stellar companions on the sky and create a synthetic Gaia color–magnitude diagram. …”

A High‐Quality Reference Genome and Comparative Genomics of the Widely Farmed Banded Cricket (Gryllodes sigillatus) Identifies Selective Breeding Targets
Published 2025-03-01“…The high‐quality G. sigillatus genome assembly plus accompanying comparative genomic analyses serve as foundational resources for both applied and basic research on insect farming and behavioural biology, enabling researchers to pinpoint trait‐associated genetic variants, unravel functional pathways governing those phenotypes, and accelerate selective breeding efforts to increase the efficacy of large‐scale insect farming operations.…”

A Reinforcement Learning of Cloud Resource Scheduling Algorithm Based on Adaptive Weight
Published 2021-04-01“…Furthermore,an adaptive weight was introduced in the strategy of action selection to improve the convergence speed, and the weight was updated adaptively according to the return value after each execution of the action, then the action selection strategy was determined by using the heuristic function. …”

Antimicrobial Activity of Chitosan from Different Sources Against Non-<i>Saccharomyces</i> Wine Yeasts as a Tool for Producing Low-Sulphite Wine
Published 2024-10-01“…Finally, the efficiency of different antimicrobial treatments was evaluated during laboratory-scale fermentations inoculated with a selected <i>S. cerevisiae</i> strain. The tested strains exhibited medium/high resistance to the chitosan; in some cases, the behaviour varied in the function of species/strain, and only four strains exhibited different resistance levels, depending on the chitosan source. …”

Functionalizing Lignin‐Based Nanofiber Electrodes with Gold Using Electrochemically Assisted Aqueous Reduction
Published 2025-05-01“…Abstract This work demonstrates how the electrochemically assisted aqueous reduction (EAR) method can be employed with lignin to prepare functional surfaces from underutilized resources. First, electrospun lignin nanofiber mats are carbonized at 700, 900, and 1100 °C to prepare electrodes with conductivities between 1.1 and 12 S cm−1. …”
