Health Assessment of the Lower Reaches of Longhe River under Watershed Systematic Treatment by YU Binjing, FU Yicheng

    Published 2022-01-01
“…River health assessment is the basis for watershed planning, systematic treatment, and ecological restoration. The lower reaches of the Longhe River in Langfang suffer fragile ecology and lack water fluidity, showing a poor water environment. To accurately assess the ecological health of rivers severely disturbed by human activities and identify the fragility factors in the ecosystem,we construct a health assessment index system for the Longhe River based on the analytic hierarchy process (AHP).The river health assessment index system consists of five aspects:hydrological integrity, physical structural integrity, chemical integrity, biological integrity, and social function integrity. The Langfang section of Longhe River is generally in a healthy state with a health assessment score of 75.18.According to the assessment results, the Longhe River watershed has problems such as large development and utilization of water resources, low wetland retention rate, serious artificial disturbance in the riparian zone, and poor quality of the upstream water. The proposed assessment method could provide a reference for the health assessment of rivers under severe artificial control.…”

Le réseau hydraulique à Pompéi (Italie) de l’époque des Samnites à Auguste (fin ive-fin ier s. av. J.-C.) by Federico Giletti

    Published 2023-12-01
“…The monumental appearance that, in some cases, frames and marks the outcropping of the deep wells, eloquently portrays the public utility function that these wells must have had in most of the attested cases. On the basis of the research, other types of cisterns in addition to water catchment wells have been identified in the earliest phases of the city of Pompeii, such as the tunnel cistern, a type that was widespread in various contexts in the ancient Tyrrhenian from the Archaic period onwards, and the so-called cylinder or bottle cistern, also evidenced in ancient times and archaeologically documented between the 4th and 3rd centuries BC in a number of Pompeian contexts. …”

Differential effects of young and old hematopoietic stem cell niches on bone marrow-derived dendritic cells by Patrik Milić, Mojca Justin Kjuder, Katerina Jazbec Gradišar, Urban Švajger, Primož Rožman

    Published 2025-07-01
“…Abstract Background Aging is linked to various dysfunctions of the immune system, including the decline of its primary developmental source: the hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) niche. This decline leads to chronic inflammation, increased vulnerability to infections, cancer, autoimmune diseases, and reduced vaccine efficacy. …”
