Current approaches to assessment of the impact of the environmental contamination on cancer risk by L. G. Solenova

    Published 2020-03-01
“…Assessment of the impact of environmental contamination on cancer risk includes: •setting research priorities on the local, regional, and on the all-Russian levels; •the selection of the research that may be maximally socially profitable; •the choice of the research method that the most adequately meets the research objectives; •systemic analysis of the planed research to determine the availability of the resources, personnel, and information; •monitoring of atmospheric pollutions with analysis of the fraction composition of the particulate matters; •coordination of available data basis on environment and the population health conditions; •the implementation of the of molecular biology to determine prenosological manifestation of carcinogenesis and development of fine and diverse research methods on relationships between the environment and cancer risk. For effective implementation of the research objectives aimed to decrease the impact of hazard factors with special reference on cancer risk in the Russian population, it is necessary: to create training personnel capable of providing epidemiologic studies, using up-to day methods, publication of methodological materials, text books, and sufficient funding of studies.…”

Integrating isotopic niche metrics and gut microbiota assembly reveals coexistence mechanisms in subtropical riverine fish by Yaqiu Liu, Xinhui Li, Konstantinos Ar. Kormas, Chunni Kou, Huifeng Li, Yuefei Li, Jie Li

    Published 2025-12-01
“…Furthermore, our findings indicated fish host trophic niche differentiation emerges as an essential adaptive mechanism facilitating interspecific coexistence by minimizing resource competition. Crucially, we identified the similarity of the intestinal microbial community structure is closely related to the degree of overlap of its nutritional ecological niche, indicating functional convergence between host trophic niches and their symbiotic microbiomes. These microbial adaptations facilitate nutritional optimization from varied trophic sources, mediate interspecific resource partitioning, and expand ecological opportunities within the fish community. …”

Medium- and Long-term Runoff Prediction Based on SMA-LSSVM by TIAN Jinghuan, LI Congxin, LI Ang

    Published 2022-01-01
“…Medium-and long-term runoff prediction is extremely important for flood control, disaster reduction and the utilization efficiency improvement of water resources. To avoid the influence of prediction model parameters on prediction accuracy, this paper proposes a medium-and long-term runoff prediction model based on least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) optimized by the slime mold algorithm (SMA).Firstly, five standard test functions are selected to compare the simulation results of SMA and particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithms in different dimensions.Secondly,SMA is used to optimize the penalty parameters and kernel parameters of LSSVM,and the comparison models of LSSVM and PSO-LSSVM are constructed. Finally, the models are verified with the monthly runoff of Manwan Hydropower Station Reservoir and Yingluoxia Hydrological Station as prediction examples. The results show that the mean square error of the SMA-LSSVM model is 29.26% and 7.42% lower than those of the LSSVM and PSO-LSSVM models, respectively,in the monthly runoff prediction of the Manwan station, and 32.61% and 6.61% lower, respectively,in the monthly runoff prediction of the Yingluoxia station. The proposed SMA-LSSVM model has better comprehensive prediction performance and also provides a new method for medium- and long-term runoff prediction.…”
