Conditions for the emergence of circumnutations in plant roots.
Published 2021-01-01“…Here we describe a model capable of replicating root growth behaviors, which we used to analyze the role of circumnuntations, revealing their emergence I) under gravitropic stress, as a combination of signal propagation and sensitivity to the signal carriers; II) as a result of the interplay between gravitropic and thigmotropic responses; and III) as a behavioral strategy to detect and react to resource gradients. The latter function requires the presence of a hypothetical internal oscillator whose parameters are regulated by the perception of environmental resources.…”

The RBF-FD and RBF-FDTD Methods for Solving Time-Domain Electrical Transient Problems in Power Systems
Published 2023-01-01“…RBFs such as Gaussian (GA), Multiquadric (MQ), Inverse Quadric (IQ), and Inverse Multiquadric (IMQ) are used in these numerical methods to formulate the central finite difference approximations of the first- and second-order derivatives of a function. The algorithm of selecting “optimal” shape parameters for our basis functions is also applied, specifically to increase the accuracy of the suggested methods with regard to high accuracy needs. …”

Cultural Models of the Body Parts Hand and Hair in Hungarian Archaic Prayers
Published 2023-11-01“…The corpus of the study is Erdélyi’s collection of 321 archaic prayers (2013 [1976]), from which all representations of ‘hand’ and ‘hair’ are selected and conceptually analysed. The results show that 1) the figurative functions of the two body parts partly correspond to metaphors which are also found in secular Hungarian (e.g. hand for help, hand for care, hand for action); however, in the archaic prayers, they often take form in specific meanings (hand for help to get into heaven, hand for providence, hand for control); 2) their figurative uses strongly rely on cultural schemas which are attached to people and events. …”

Stage-specific metabolic allocation: nutrient investment strategies during Lysiphlebia japonica Ashmead development
Published 2025-08-01“…Nutrients, particularly lipids and energy-related metabolites, play a critical role in shaping stage-specific growth and survival strategies in parasitic wasps.MethodsTo analyze the allocation patterns of metabolite resources during development of parasitoid wasps, the multi-omics analysis was employed to systematically investigate nutrient dynamics across three growth periods in Lysiphlebia japonica Ashmead, a major parasitoid of cotton aphid (Aphis gossypii Glover).ResultsHere, a total of 753 metabolites were detected by untargeted metabolomics, with numerous nutritionally critical compounds including amino acids, fatty acids and carbohydrates showed stage-specific variations. …”

Genomic signal selection analysis reveals genes related to the lambing trait of Hotan sheep
Published 2025-07-01“…We identified 290 selected regions and 332 genes across the Hotan sheep genome by using two widely adopted selective scanning detection methods (FST statistics and Piratio). Functional annotation and enrichment analysis of these genes identified 13 genes associated with the lambing rate, which were enriched in pathways such as the transforming growth factor-β signaling pathway (BMPR2, ID2, SMAD7, THBS1, and RBX1), renal cell carcinoma (PAK1, ELOC), inositol phosphate metabolism (PLCZ), non-homologous terminal junction (RAD50), ABC transporters (ABCC4), and the NET pathway (H2B, H4, and H2A). …”
