Gene-Environment Interactions in Stress Response Contribute Additively to a Genotype-Environment Interaction. by Takeshi Matsui, Ian M Ehrenreich

    Published 2016-07-01
“…To shed light on this problem, we genetically dissected an environment-specific poor growth phenotype in a cross of two budding yeast strains. This phenotype is detectable when certain segregants are grown on ethanol at 37°C ('E37'), a condition that differs from the standard culturing environment in both its carbon source (ethanol as opposed to glucose) and temperature (37°C as opposed to 30°C). …”

Load balancing method of service cluster based on mean-variance by Xiaoan BAO, Xue WEI, Lei CHEN, Guoheng HU, Na ZHANG

    Published 2017-01-01
“…When a large number of concurrent requests are allocated, the load scheduling mechanism is to achieve the load balancing of nodes in the network by minimizing the response time and maximizing the utilization ratio of nodes. In the load balancing algorithm based on genetic algorithm, the fitness function is designed to have an important influence on the load balancing efficiency.A service cluster load balancing method based on mean-variance was proposed to optimize the fitness function. The investment portfolio selection model mean-variance was used to minimize the response time, which was used to get the weight of each server's resource utilization,so as to obtain the optimal allocation combination. This method improves the accuracy and efficiency of the fitness function.Compared with other models in different service environment, the simulation results show that the load balancing algorithm makes the service cluster get a better balance performance in terms of node utilization and response time.…”

    Published 2025-06-01
“…Our findings revealed that the urbanization gradient shaped the soil microbiome, while the lichen microbiomes exhibited strong host specificity and showed no significant changes in diversity along the urbanization gradient. Heterogeneous selection and dispersal limitation primarily governed the soil community assembly and higher community turnover in medium- and highly urbanized zones compared to low-urbanized zones, indicating an increased influence of environmental pressures, altered resources, and habitat fragmentation in more urbanized areas. …”
