Multiuser computation offloading for edge-cloud collaboration using submodular optimization
Published 2020-10-01“…A computation offloading scheme based on edge-cloud computing was proposed to improve the system utility of multiuser computation offloading. This scheme improved the system utility while considering the optimization of edge-cloud resources. In order to tackle the problems of computation offloading mode selection and edge-cloud resource allocation,a greedy algorithm based on submodular theory was developed by fully exploiting the computing and communication resources of cloud and edge. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme effectively reduces the delay and energy consumption of computing tasks.Additionally, when computing tasks are offloaded to edge and cloud from devices, the proposed scheme still maintains stable system utilities under ultra-limited resources.…”

Land Use Challenges in Emerging Economic Corridors of the Global South: A Case Study of the Laos Economic Corridor
Published 2024-12-01“…The study results indicate that (1) The land use pattern in the Laos Economic Corridor has gradually shifted from a “single-core radial” structure to a “dumbbell-shaped” structure, promoting coordinated regional economic development. (2) A significant unidirectional flow of land use has been established, with forestland being converted into cultivated land and cultivated land being further converted into artificial surfaces. (3) In addition to the natural geographical constraints, the transport infrastructure and the spatial layout of industries are the main drivers for the expansion of ecological land, agricultural land, and built-up land. (4) Spatial planning interventions are essential and urgent: the establishment of land management rules based on the principles of forest conservation and intensive development can effectively control the uncontrolled expansion of artificial areas, significantly reduce the loss of forestland, and ensure the rational allocation of land resources for long-term development. …”

Optimization strategy of multi-link energy efficient joint transmission of Wi-Fi 7
Published 2023-09-01“…In the multi-link non-simultaneous transmit and receive mode of next-generation Wi-Fi 7 protocol, the transmission ending time of multi-link device (MLD) needs to be aligned on each link, which may require data padding, resulting in the waste of spectrum resources and transmission energy consumption.A high energy efficient MLD transmission algorithm was proposed to improve the total energy efficiency of MLD station (STA) on the premise of meeting the data transmission delay limit. The proposed algorithm was optimized from the following three aspects: link data distribution ratio, communication resource allocation and STA transmission power.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce energy consumption by reducing padding data on the premise of guaranteeing the delay limit of data transmission, and the transmission energy efficiency of the system is increased by about 150% compared with that of the baseline scheme.…”

User-centric energy efficiency fairness in backscatter-assisted wireless powered communication network
Published 2020-07-01“…In order to address the unfair user-centric energy efficiency (EE) problem caused by channel difference in the backscatter-assisted wireless powered communication network,a resource allocation scheme was proposed.Firstly,a mixed integer nonconvex fractional programming problem was formulated to maximize the minimum user-centric EE,subject to the quality of service and energy-causality constraints.Based on the generalized fractional programming theory, the original problem was transformed into a mixed integer nonconvex subtraction problem. With the aid of the slack variable, the proof by contradiction, the auxiliary variable and the mixed integer nonconvex subtraction problem were further transformed into an equivalent convex problem. Finally,an iterative algorithm was proposed to obtain the optimal solutions.Computer simulations validated the quick convergence of the proposed iterative algorithm, and that the developed resource allocation scheme efficiently guarantees the fairness among users in terms of EE.…”
