Predicting Large-Scale WLAN Traffic via Granger Causality Based Bayesian Network
Published 2015-08-01“…Granger causality existed between traffic at different access points of large-scale wireless LANs was discovered. The Granger causality illustrates that the historical traffic of access points that exist causality within target access points help predict the future of target access points with better accuracy than when considering information from the past of target access point alone.Bayesian network to model the causal relationship between access points and adopted a Gaussian mixture model(GMM)was used,as well as a weighted combination of several normal distribution functions in order to approximate the joint probability distribution in Bayesian networks. Finally, the traffic data in large-scale wireless LANs was imported, having hundreds of access points,to verify the accuracy of the proposed method, and a processing flow of analysis, modeling and prediction of traffic flow data was established.…”

Base station sleep mechanism based on power consumption and energy cost balance
Published 2017-07-01“…Deploying dense network in 5G system increases the number of nodes, which leads to a sharp increase in power consumption of wireless communication system, aggravates the economic burden of mobile network operator and exacerbates the emission of CO2.Therefore,considering the number of candidate base station (BS) group and the relative position of the BS supplied by new energy,a comprehensive power consumption model in wireless communication system was investigated in terms of the power consumption and economical level.A base station sleep algorithm based on power consumption and energy cost balance was proposed to achieve a tradeoff between them, which selected candidate groups according to the corresponding power consumption and then determined the active group by choosing the cheapest ones.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can significantly reduce energy cost of communication bases system although it leads to a negligible increase in power consumption.…”

AMC based IP microwave technology
Published 2020-09-01“…IP microwave technology is a new transmission technology, which uses IP technology to transmit data signals in the microwave field. It has the advantages of fast deployment rate, flexible installation, convenient transport and efficient data transmission, and has become a common ground wireless transmission system with large capacity. An environmental model of microwave transmission was proposed and discussed. The model used IP network as the return transmission, which was helpful for the development of general network of wireless access system. The prototype design of UHF band microwave/Internet protocol (IP) network interface was carried out,and the conversion of the three major functional modules in the network were described,to realize the broadband integrated services digital transmissions. The results show that the ground transmission signal (DTMB) can efficiently transmit on the IP network, and the monitoring/truncation of the microwave signal can significantly reduce the network throughput as needed.…”

Schedule-aware power management for energy-efficiency improvement in IEEE 802.11u WLAN
Published 2019-08-01“…A mobile terminal supporting the IEEE 802.11u standard can automatically access a wireless local area network within the coverage of a network service provided by a wireless local area network.Aiming at the characteristics of IEEE 802.11u WLAN,a time series sensing based PSM (S-PSM) scheme was proposed. The transmission sequence information was broadcasted using a generic advertisement service (GAS) defined in the IEEE 802.11u standard, and all terminals controlled their own operating states according to the sequence information. In order to reduce the collision probability of the contention channel,a response contention window was introduced. When there was no data packet in the access point (AP),the AP broadcasted the GAS frame and activated the idle timer. All terminals went to sleep until the idle timer expires. The simulation results show that compared with the proposed traditional PSM,the scheme can significantly reduce power consumption and improve terminal energy-efficiency.…”
