Effect of Yanshiqiangxin Decoction on Cardiomyocyte Apoptosis in Heart Failure Rats Based on PI3K/Akt/Caspase-9 Signaling Pathway
Published 2022-04-01“…The gavage dose was calculated as 10 mL/(kg·d) ,the normal group and the model group were given the same volume of distilled water. One day after the last gavage, M-mode echocardiography [left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular short-axis shortening (LVFS), left ventricular internal dimension diastole (LVIDd) and left ventricular internal dimension systole (LVIDs)] was performed through an ultra-high resolution small animal ultrasound imaging system; B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) was measured by ELISA method; the apoptosis of cardiomyocytes was observed through laser confocal microscopy and the apoptosis index was calculated; the expression of apoptosis-related proteins Bax, Bcl-2 and PI3K/Akt/Caspase-9 signalling pathway proteins were detected by Western blot method.Results① Cardiac ultrasound test results: compared with the normal group, the left ventricular anterior wall motion waveform of the model group was not obvious, close to linear motion, and LVEF and LVFS decreased significantly (P<0.05), LVIDd and LVIDs increased significantly (P<0.05), the left ventricle was significantly enlarged and the contractility was reduced. …”

Comprehensive increase in CO2 release by drying–rewetting cycles among Japanese forests and pastureland soils and exploring predictors of increasing magnitude
Published 2025-01-01“…<p>It is still difficult to precisely quantify and predict the effects of drying–rewetting cycles (DWCs) on soil carbon dioxide (<span class="inline-formula">CO2</span>) release due to the paucity of studies using constant moisture conditions equivalent to the mean water content during DWC incubation. The present study was performed to evaluate overall trends in the effects of DWCs on <span class="inline-formula">CO2</span> release and to explore environmental and soil predictors for variations in the effect size in 10 Japanese forests and pastureland soils variously affected by volcanic ash during their pedogenesis. …”

The direct and urinary electrolyte-mediated effects of ambient temperature on population blood pressure: A causal mediation analysis
Published 2025-01-01“…Models had participant-level random intercepts and were adjusted for age, sex, body mass index (BMI), religion, exercise, smoking status, sleep hours, alcohol consumption, urine creatinine, time trend, household assets, drinking water salinity, and seasonality. For the combined mediators (sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium), for every 5°C increase in average daily temperature: the direct effect on systolic BP was −1.42 (95 % CI: −1.94, −0.92) mmHg and urine sodium mediated effect was −0.12 (95 % CI: −0.20, −0.05) mmHg; while urine potassium mediated effect was 0.15 (95 % CI: 0.08, 0.25) mmHg; urine calcium-mediated effect 0.06 (95 % CI: 0.01, 0.12) mmHg; and urine magnesium mediated effect −0.00 (95 % CI: −0.03, 0.02) mmHg. …”
