Investigation of magnesium phosphate cement on river dredged sludge with varying humic acid content and solidification mechanism by Xiaoyi Yuan, Lei Peng, Bing Chen

    Published 2025-01-01
“…MPC reduces the structural strength caused by the shrinkage of pure sludge under the action of matric suction, but the incorporation of MPC significantly improved the strength when the sludge is eroded by water. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) show that the sludge and MPC can form a dense solid body, forming various hydration products, and synergistically improve the mechanical properties of the sludge.…”

Effect and Removal Mechanisms of 6 Different Washing Agents for Building Wastes Containing Chromium by Wang Xing-run, Zhang Yan-xia, Wang Qi, Shu Jian-min

    Published 2012-01-01
“…As per the results, particle size had little impact on the contents of total Cr and Cr (VI); after one washing with water, the removal rate of total Cr and Cr (VI) was 75% and 78%, respectively, and after the second washing with 6 agents, the removal rate of citric acid was the highest, above 90% for total Cr and above 99% for hexavalent chromium; the pH of building wastes were reduced by citric acid, and under acid condition, hexavalent chromium was reduced to trivalent chromium spontaneously by organic acid, which led to better removal rate of acid soluble Cr and reducible Cr; due to the complexing action, citric acid had best removal rate for oxidizable trivalent chromium. …”

Modelling of Chain Process of Debris Flow Blocking River and Induced Flood Disaster in Meizoseismal Area ——A Case of Xiazhuang Gully in Wenchuan County by LUO Yuting, WANG Lijuan, MA Song, TANG Yao

    Published 2023-01-01
“…After the Wenchuan earthquake, there has been a sharp increase in the frequency of debris flow activity, which is featured by low rainfall threshold, frequent occurrence, wide impact and strong destruction. The hazards mainly include siltation, impact, river blocking and inundation.Among them, the mudslide blocking river shows particularly prominent disaster effect, seriously threatening the improvement of mountain infrastructure, and residents' life and property safety. The research of the dynamic process of river blocking disaster chain of debris flow can provide scientific reference for debris flow hazard prevention and early warning.Based on field surveys, physical tests, remote sensing images and rainfall data for a typical watershed,a numerical simulation was conducted to study the dynamic process of the river blocking disaster chain of debris flow in Xiazhuang Gully. The simulation results show that the debris flow reaches the outlet of the basin at t=120 step;and at t=130 step the debris flow pushes forward and blocks part of the main river;at t=140 and 150 step the debris flow completely blocks the main river, forming a debris-dam with a length, width and thickness of 236.0 m,74.0 m,6.2 m and 312.0 m,79.0 m,and 7.1 m,respectively, which causes the upstream water level to rise, with an inundation depth of the upstream residential area of 3-5 m.By comparing the simulation results with the field measured data, the accuracy of the simulation reaches up to 84.9%,which indicates that the model is of good applicability to simulating the disaster chain process of landslide-debris flow-flood.…”

    Published 2010-03-01
“…This “amphibious” character confers on the pleasure sailing an atypical place among the tourist activities. In France, more than for other leisure, the pleasure sailing is quartered between reference spaces, (resulting essentially from the trajectories of the yachtsmen, navigation basins, cruising basins, pleasure sailing basins…), and of administrative territories concerned with a quite different logic on the ground (territorial collectivities, subdivisions of the maritime businesses) and at sea (territorial water, zone of exercise of police rights).Like many other “lived” spaces, the surfaces for practice of pleasure sailing are particularly complex. …”
