Estimation of Dry Season Irrigation Water Abstraction in Lunsemfwa, Mulungushi, Mwomboshi, and Mkushi Subbasins from 2013 to 2017 in Zambia by Lamong Duke Tshenyego, Kamuti Mulonda, Isaac Nyambe Simate

    Published 2019-01-01
“…The results estimate that a total maximum abstraction of 119,680,200 m3 was in 2013, and a minimum estimate of 74,951,400 m3 was in 2014. Wheat abstraction volumes (which were used to represent crops with higher water demand) were compared between catchments and significant differences exist when comparing Lunsemfwa catchment to Mkushi, Mulungushi, and Mwomboshi; thus there were no chances of similarity at an alpha level of 0.05. …”

Evidence of Tectonic Control on the Geochemical Features of the Volatiles Vented along the Nebrodi-Peloritani Mts (Southern Apennine Chain, Italy) by Francesco Italiano, Pietro Bonfanti, Salvatore Roberto Maugeri

    Published 2019-01-01
“…We propose that the degassing regime as well as the geochemical features of both the dissolved and bubbling gases is closely connected to the strain accumulation rate, inducing almost no temporal changes and insignificant deep-originated fluid contributions to the locked fault volumes. Investigations including discrete and continuous monitoring and degassing-rate estimations are useful tools to gain a better insight into the evolution of seismogenesis, considering the fault rupture as the final stage of a seismic cycle.…”

Research on the transverse collaborative working performance of hollow slab bridges enhanced by channel steel and prestressed CFRP tendons by Haozhe Jiang, Yongcheng Wang, Qinrui Liu, Ping Zhuge, Zhiyu Jie

    Published 2025-07-01
“…The hinge joint is critical for the transverse connection of hollow slab bridges and is highly susceptible to damage due to increasing traffic volumes and vehicle loads. To enhance the transverse collaborative working performance (TCWP) of hollow slab bridges, a hinge joint reinforcement technique by installing transverse channels at the bottom of the hollow slab and vertical prestressed CFRP tendons in the hinge joints is proposed in this study. …”
